Seo/design Company Name

Posted by thomas.poole on 250 Points
Hi everyone! So I'm looking for a good business name for a mainly SEO company although we will be offering some design services. We are a local company backed by a global provider (VAR).

We will be focusing on organic SEO and social media management.

I seem to have writers block as I just can't think of a good name. I did some brainstorming but most names were taken for the domain!

I like the idea of a company being like a needle in a haystack and needing SEO to stand out from the crowd. I've tried standout media, 2crowded, be bold, step ahead but now I'm struggling to think.

I came up with a tag line that I may use, unless someone suggests something better!

Exist in your world. Stand out in ours.

Or

Exist in your world. Be found in ours.

You get the idea!

Thanks in advance for the help

Kind regards.

Hang on a minute. You haven't said anything about who your customers are, and the questions they are asking - where your business is the answer.

Because with that you won't need to stand out in their world. You'll just be there, and you won't need to stand out because there won't be any others.

So let's have it. Throw anything at us, we can handle it and give you some witty, charming or just plain funny ideas.

Our customers will be a range of businesses. New start ups, small local companies, large local companies that do not have a good web presence. Businesses that have yet to make a social presence and do not understand the power social can have on traffic and roi. Businesses that have a website but no or low traffic.

Their main question is usually... How do I increase my social media presence and increase traffic to my website. Our company manages that task for them.

When I say stand out, needle in a haystack etc. I'm not referring to my business, I am referring to my potential clients. Say for example, a photography company. They have a website but no traffic. They are one website in thousands and need to be found and stand out among them. We help by increasing their rank on SERPS, creating unique content, managing their social presence, running ppc campaigns, creating dynamic content such as motion graphics to increase their traffic and improve their conversion rates.

Thanks for the suggestions Jay, much appreciated although not what I am looking for. I think more snappy, shorter and easy to remember!

SEO Client - answering your client's questions online.
SEO Magnet. Attracting new clients to your business.
Client Magnet. Attracting better clients with SEO.

    Any good?

Now do please put them right when they say things like "How do I increase my social media presence and increase traffic to my website. " when what they need are a better stream of prospects and good quality leads. Increasing traffic might not do this.

Oh, and if your clients think that they are a "needle in a haystack" they're hiding in it, and aren't looking to be found. Reverse psychology.

I think the name "Be Found" from your second tagline candidate has potential. Unfortunately, the domain - "befoundseo.com" has been taken. However below are some other options for your consideration:

    Names:
    1) Be Found SEM (befoundsem.com is available)
    2) Be Found Now (befoundnow.com is available)
    3) Get Exposed SEO (getexposedseo.com is available)

    Taglines:
    1) Is Your Business Like a Needle in a Haystack?
    2) Are You Like A Needle In A Haystack?

The problem with the "needle in a haystack" reference is that it triggers an image of the problem, not the solution. I'd look for a way to describe the BENEFIT, not simply dramatize the problem. You're going to solve the problem, right? So create a vision of the way things will be when you've worked your magic.

When you say something like "Don't be a needle in a haystack," people remember the needle in a haystack, not the "don't be.)

Of course, mgoodman is right about your tagline. It is better to state the solution, the unique benefit that solves the customer's problem. So what would that be with your business, what benefit are you providing that is not generic to this category? How will you stand out from your many competitors?

[*aside] When does using the problem work? Only when you have great creative minds and big media budgets.
