I Need Help Naming My Natural Cosmetics Company.

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am in the planning stage of my business, and I am so completely stuck in choosing a name for my company. My business is made up of all natural, homemade cosmetics, soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. Aromatherapy is a big part of my products. They are gentle and rejuvenating.

I want a chic name, catchy, but true to the products. My name should catch the attention of men and women, as well as kids.

I plan to start my business online and locally in my community.

What makes your business special in a market that is crowded? Where are you and who are your best customer types? These questions will go a long way to helping us make you a sensible - meaningful - name.

You only want to catch the attention of "men and women, as well as kids?"

I think you probably want to re-think that target audience definition. There are more than 7 billion of those "men and women, as well as kids," and you can't afford to catch the attention of all of them. Try to narrow it to a more reasonable target -- geographically, demographically and psychographically.

Then answer the questions Moriarty has posed.

Your original question was all about what YOU want to offer/do, and for naming we need to know more about your target audience and what's in it for them to pay attention. Focus on the BENEFIT you will deliver to them that makes you unique.

Finally, do you have business and marketing plans for this business? Those should really be determined before you try to come up with a name. After all, won't the marketing strategy impact the name selection? Otherwise how will you judge which of our suggestions to select?

What are the criteria for a good name? Or is this a case of "I'll know it when I see it," and we just have to guess at what you're trying to communicate?
