Help With A Name For Doorstep Recycling Business

Posted by Anonymous on 150 Points
Hi - I am having a very tough time coming up with a name for my recycling business. I think the big reason it is a bit tough because I don't want to start building a brand and restrict myself to just one service... and at the same time I don't want to be too too vague. The primary service I am launching with to start is doorstep recycling for multi-residential buildings (apartments, condos, etc, where recycling participation rates are low). That's the primary service I wish to start off with; and perhaps I can see myself offering other recycling solutions such as floor-by-floor recycling pickup (if space is available - it usually isn't), and organic/green waste door-to-door pickup. I can see it also moving from multi-residential to also include offices.

I do want the name/logo to make my company come across as a clean/green company. We offer these solutions to increase diversion rates. The target market is the end consumer (renters) and also the building managers/owners.

I do have some ideas in mind, but I would like to get some fresh/different ideas.. There are companies in the US that do this sort of thing - and they usually go by Valet something... i.e. ValetWaste. I'm not really keen on the "valet"... so.. Any help would be much appreciated. Also, I am thinking perhaps a general name with a tag line/some describing words might be the best way to go... Any help on this one would be great. Thanks for your time!

What benefit are you actually offering your customers - after all, at present all they need do is pop the stuff in a hole, and its gone. What other benefit - aside from their altruism - are you depending on?

With that, we can do more with your name and tagline.

Thanks for the responses thus far!

Jay: I considered the first name you suggested earlier on. I did decide that it is a bit restricting, so I decided not to go with it. Thank you though for your suggestion!

    Moriarty:
I have defined two markets to target:

Tenant -- In addition to that "feel good" benefit, the major benefit for this service is convenience. It makes recycling just as convenient if not more convenient than garbage disposal. Through my research, the majority of tenants in my community want to recycle or recycle more, but the main reason they don't is the lack of convenience of it and there often is over flow/not enough storage for the recycled goods on site (not enough bins). So my service fill both of these wants/needs.

Manager/building owner: They receive the most benefit. Everyone in the building gets on board, and the recycling is included in their rent. Major benefits for them is money (additional auxiliary income and lower total cost of property waste disposal) and making their building more "eco."

Ideally, I would like to create a name that makes us appear as an eco-friendly company. If the words don't make it sound eco, I'm sure I can do something with the graphic design that can make it look like it is.

Well, thanks for your help. =) It is much appreciated.. I've been really thinking a lot about this... actually, too much haha.
