Name Change For Fundraising Event

Posted by events on 250 Points
The Old Strathcona Foundation is a non-profit organization which protects first generation pioneer buildings and fosters heritage in one of Edmonton, Alberta's most unique and eclectic neighborhoods.

We host a fundraising silent and live auction event once a year. This event also features food sampling from the many restaurants in the area. For the past 9 years the event has been called "A Taste of Old Strathcona". It was named this because all items in the auction and food sampling came from the Old Strathcona area. We are now expanding the reach for our auction items and entertainment and would like a new name for the event. Something which promotes Heritage as well as a fun lively night of giving.

Open to all suggestions, as we have been doing this event for so long, we are at a loss.

Other notes about the event:
It is in the fall
Features beer and scotch tasting booths
Features 4-6 food stations
All sampling is free with ticket purchase
Features "purchase now" works from local photographers
Event runs from 7 - 10 pm
Would like to raise $5000-8000

Why not simply, "A Taste Of Old Edmonton"? That plays off your established name, and gives you room to grow.

    Jay,

Thank you for your response, however there is all ready an event in Edmonton called the Taste of Edmonton and I feel that would become confusing.

It would seem a shame to lose your "Old Strathcona" name. How about "A Taste of Old Strathcona (and Beyond)"?

we don't want to loose Old Strathcona from the name we just want to make the fundraising part more apparent.
