Need Help Finishing A Name For A Health Studio

Posted by debmartin9502 on 250 Points
I am opening a small (1600sq.ft.)storefront health studio which will include High Intensity Interval Training classes, TRX classes, Stretching and Pain Relief Classes, Circuit Training Classes for Kids, and Exercise Classes for Teens with High Functioning Autism. I will also be providing massage therapy. I've been in business for 8+ years out of a private home studio. Clients are mainly women for training, but would like to include men and children. Massage clients include everyone from 12 to 90. I've formed an LLC named VIBE Health and Fitness, LLC, but I am thinking of maybe just keeping VIBE for the studio. I am all about creating a balanced, healthy lifestyle. a have found a way to bring all of the things I do together to blend fitness, stretching, pain relief & bodywork. Thought about VIBE Health Studio, but I'm wondering if it has a feminine connotation. I would also like to get any ideas from you all. My clients are upper middle class and studio is in an upscale area of town. Want to have a healthy feeling to the space.

Vibe Health Studio sounds gender-neutral to me, but I'm likely not in your demographic. If you're unsure, ask those in your community what the name sounds like to them. Does it sound like a gym? Does it sound like a dance studio? Does it sound young? Female? High-end?

I agree with Jay. The name sounds gender-neutral to me, but our opinions don't really count. It's what your prospective clients think that counts. Time for some simple market research.

Vibes mean more to women than they do to men. Vibes are what women understand better - so think of it more.

You say "I am all about creating a balanced, healthy lifestyle." so following this line, how about

    the balance
    the health balance

    what do you think?

    Those are good points.

I guess I forgot to mention that VIBE is an acronym that stands for many things in my business and we are always playing on, "What's your VIBE"? Visualize, Imagine,Become, Embody or

Vibrance, Inspiration, Balance, Energy. Or Variable Intensity Balanced Exercise or ...... And the list goes on. I have used these as a tag line at times for workshops, etc., Then the word just stuck because my clients identified that there is a great vibe in the spaces I have created as well as in me, and that's why they come. So, just a little more info.

I did think about the words balance and health a lot! I liked Balanced Health, but it just wasn't catchy enough to me to grab others and I wanted a word they people could say as to where they were going, like "I'm going to VIBE". Hopefully this helps.

I will certainly take your advice on asking my clients what they think about the name too. I have done it with some of them, but maybe not a large enough group that included men. And I did it before I even had a clue that I was going into a storefront. So, thanks for that!

"it just wasn't catchy enough to me to grab others" - so who did you ask?

What's more, people might say they're "going to the Balance" - there aren't many places called balance either. What's more, it's not impossible that you get yourself a different nickname from the one you intended ... anyway, it's in your tagline ;-)

Your next job is to ask as many people as possible - more importantly, ask your customers. They are the important ones to listen to, after all.
