Event Planning Name

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I am starting a event planning business. I plan to do parties, wine tasting, weddings, baby showers, etc. I want a unique name. My ideas are
OnLock Event planning
First-class Event planning
My husband didn't like either I have no other clues.
He says onlock event planning is ghetto! I like it because it is a play off my maiden name!

It's not your husband - or you - or me that counts when it comes to a name. It's your customer. Since you don't have any you are going to have to imagine one - or if you have done this freelance, ask past customers what they think. When you get some responses, take several (and include one you don't like too, just in case!) and put them in front of your customer(s). Ask them. They are the ones who are buying.

As for uniqueness, this is usually something that you aren't thinking about much. It is however something that your friends and neighbors all know about. The problem is that you just can't see it in the mirror when you're putting on the make-up. So send out ten emails (letters) and ask them a simple open-ended question: "what do you like about me, what makes me special". The results you get will give you that answer.

    Where are you located?
What price point are you targeting (high/medium/low)?
What makes you special/different as a party planner?
Right now it sounds like you want to do any sort of party. Can you specialize a bit more, so people can see you're an expert? If so, how?

OnLock doesn't mean anything to your target audience. Don't miss the opportunity to communicate something meaningful in your name/tagline. If you will answer Jay's questions we can point you in the right direction.
