Need Tagline For My Yoga Studio.

Posted by innerharmonium on 250 Points
I need a catchy tagline for my yoga studio. The name is Soul Vista Yoga. I want something that is attractive to people who may not know they want yoga, as well as people who are looking for yoga. The studio focus is on high quality instruction with highly experienced teachers. This studio is in a small town in Colorado.
Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand who the target audience is. You say "...people who may not know they want yoga, as well as people who are looking for yoga." I understand the second group. But the first group is not so clear. Who are these "people who may not know they want yoga?" How/where are they going to learn you exist? What might make them want to learn more about yoga? What are the benefits of yoga that they might want (and be willing to pay for)? Who is your competition (for delivering that benefit)? Are you prepared to educate these folks to the benefits of yoga?

And for the second group, do you know that the yoga classes they're attending now do not feature high-quality instruction from experienced teachers? Why would they consider switching to your yoga studio? What do you offer that other studios don't?

P.S. Why catchy? There's a lot of experience that says "catchy" is not as effective as clear and simple and benefit-oriented. You don't want your target audience to focus on your clever/catchy tagline and miss the serious message you're trying to communicate, do you?

If I don't know I want yoga, how do I know I want it?

And sadly, "catchy" won't help you: it's a meaningless, BS term: an affectation. What you really need is something that's relevant: something that speaks to people's compulsions. Apart from your quality teachers, what sets you apart? What makes you different, better, and the logical first choice in yoga for your area?

My studio will be the only real yoga studio in the area. I live in a small mountain town where the competition is the occasional series offered at the community center and a woman who teaches classes in her apartment. My studio will offer classes with highly trained, certified and experienced yoga instructors. There is no place like this here and, overall, highly trained teachers who are equipped to help people in all ages and stages of life, are not the norm. I say "catchy" because I thought a tagline was meant to catch peoples' attention. So, I guess my request was redundant - I want a tagline. Yoga, at least the word, is so mainstream that people often remark "I should try yoga because my back hurts", etc. So I want to attract the people who think they might want to try yoga, as well as people who know they want to try yoga, or already practice yoga. Thank you for your help.

So this must be your studio .. https://soulvistayoga.com/
If you are truly the only real yoga studio in town, then that can be your tagline. It would be a "positioning" tagline. And as such, you are the number one studio and also the first studio. If another yoga studio were to open its doors down the road, they would be the number two studio and the second studio to come to your town. So ...

The First Yoga Studio in Town
The Only Yoga Studio in Town
The No 1 Yoga Studio in Town

The strategy for brands who own the number one position is to continue to own the number one position, e.g. Coke, Hertz, and the like, still own the number one positions in their market segments. To further claim your first studio position, you can launch a campaign that shows the benefits of yoga (as an alternative fitness training to gyms and aerobics). After all, the people who convert to yoga will only have one REAL option, your studio.

Always Yoga. The yoga team busy in your town all year
Everyday Yoga. Your yoga studio in your town, all year.
Your Yoga. The Yoga studio in YOURTOWN: no waiting for visitors.

BTW I would have no problem with "I should try yoga because my back hurts" - at least they're not just reaching for the painkillers! They might just discover its other benefits too.

Thank you for your input PhilGrisolia4Results. I live in Buena Vista, thus the Vista part of Soul Vista Yoga. What suggestions do you have?

"Buena Vista Yoga" would be a good first option. Since you are the only yoga studio in town, it should be available as a domain name and trademark.
