Online Women's Fashions

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am commencing an online women's fashion store (but I am based in Australia) and I am struggling to come up with a name that reflects glamour but also good quality for low prices.

I would like the name to also appear to girls/women from 18 - 50 which is quite a large target market.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I am not a marketing guru and am struggling!!

Thank you! :)

Let's focus on your customers because they are key here. Now appealing to 18-50s is fine - only you will need to narrow your marketing to those who are most likely to buy from you. You need to find out what they see in you that makes you special - and nice to deal with.

The very real problem you have is that you are in a market that has way too many online shops already. So you are going to have to get clever: just because it's saturated doesn't mean there aren't opportunities. Because with the state of marketing as it is at present, opportunities abound. That is especially true if you can find out who your perfect client is.

For a start imagining them will do just fine - write down everything you can about them, and write your advertising copy for your website especially for that one person. You can fine-tune it later as you find out who they really are, only to have a connection there will be something in you that they already like. For ideas try this, J Peterman who has wonderful copy: https://www.jpeterman.com/Womens-Dresses/Georginas-Sunset-Polka-Dot-Dress

Only tailor it to the woman you are advertising to. J Peterman is a big company with a big market share, and you aren't. Nor do you have to be, and nor should you want to be. If all goes well, you will have a business that supports, inspires and fulfills you.

If you're wondering what makes you special - ask your friends to be candid. Usually easiest to ask them by email or letter. The answers you get will be varied only something will run through all of them, and that is your special something. That is something nobody else has, and this is your key to creating copy that appeals to the small market niche you speak to.

Does this help? I'm sorry there aren't any taglines yet, we need to know a little more before we start. In any case, implementing even a small amount of the above and your tagline will all but write itself.

You have a number of seeming conflicts: good quality vs low prices, glamour vs. low prices, and glamour vs. 18 - 50. A good name will have a hard time spanning this conflicts. Can you narrow down your market more, and share your answers to these seeming conflicts?

    Hi!!

Thank you for your further queries. The cost of the items are not dirt cheap so I have probably conveyed that wrong but the prices are competitive and the quality of ithe items sold are of good quality.

The main ages would be 18 - 30 but there would be women in the higher age bracket that could also shop through my store

The main theme from friends is bubbly/happy, caring and strong. Nothing too out there in those!!

Not sure if any of the helps
