Where will your clothes be available? Are your ideal buyers looking for " smart and swag"? They may not be. Think about that. Why would someone buy from you rather than from an established department store? What makes your line different? And lastly, a name alone will not "brand" things: a brand is a far more complex thing than you might imagine.

Thank you Gary, you are right. Could you please explain me more on "And lastly, a name alone will not "brand" things: a brand is a far more complex thing than you might imagine."?

Let's put this the other way around. You need a name that communicates to your customers.

That means it needs to show your company's strengths to them. And be focussed on who they are and why they choose you.

Now: are you selling in Africa, selling African prints by (say) a European firm - and to whom? What is the quality like?

Now: what do you think of

    African Swish
    Dress African!
Style with a vengeance (thinking of the bright colours they like!)
Colour Clash! Vivid African styles for lively women

    What do you think?

Hi Moriarty, your suggestions are awesome.

In actual fact, I am in Africa (Tanzania) and I will be selling to African women but also expatriates who are here. The materials I will be using is local made (kitenge or batik).

I love the names you proposed ...

    Thank you so much

Which one did you like best? (and don't forget to ask your customers too - they're buying and I'm in Holland so I can't right now!).

Have you any ideas that sprang from them - and perhaps I can invent a few more for you to try?

Are you making them yourself? In which case it's tailoring/fashioning too. Can you get them custom made for somebody who wants something really special - or a garment in a particular pattern that they really like??
