Let's turn this around 180 degrees. Who is going to want to buy things in a boutique of this kind? Seeing it from your customer's point of view usually helps a lot. What's more with so many boutiques, serving a really specific niche - that is to say, serving a very specific kind of customer - will help enormously. It will make you stand out as something really different.

So who are they apart from being female and 25-65. Where do they live in the city? Why do they shop where your boutique is? Why would they come into yours and not one of two dozen others? What makes your boutique special apart from all that??

Moriarty is asking the right questions. The name has more to do with your target audience than with your definition of what you're selling.

Start by defining the primary target audience much more precisely. Where do they live? Where are they shopping now? What brands do they like? The more specific you can be the better.

Then interview 8-10 people in that primary target audience and find out how they decide where to purchase clothing, where they like to shop, where they don't like to shop (and why), etc. Don't try to sell them anything or convince them of anything. Just ask your questions and listen carefully to what they say. Take detailed notes, including the words they use and the body language that may communicate the strength of their emotional commitment.

When you have completed at least 8 or 9 of these interviews, step back and review your notes. You'll find a treasure trove of ideas for the name of your boutique. And if you don't, then you didn't do a good job in the interviews. You may want to hire a professional to do this for you.

    Hi,

Just call it - ' Boutique'.
Well, when people say I am going to boutique friends will ask which Boutique? Answer will be Boutique. So, the name will have 3-4times repetition.

I apologize everyone....I forgot I did this and have been away for a while. This boutique is from the south (South Carolina). Girls young and old like catchy names. For instance Southern Fried Chics is a pretty popular online boutique that a lot of our girls in this area shop from. Carolina Girls is another. I want a name to go along with the area. I should have posted that before. The boutique will be downtown area location. Thanks!
