Need A Tagline For Home Staging Business

Posted by hraine on 250 Points
My home staging company's name is Porch Swing Staging & Redesign. I'm looking for an original, but catchy, tagline. Something about the comforts of home, staging inside and out... Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

You do NOT need something "catchy", you need something that resonates: you already have two such phrases on your website: "Staging your home for the greatest comfort and appeal" and, "To sell and to dwell."

This is NOT meant to sound snarky, so please don't take it as such but really, rather than focusing too heavily on a tag line right now you'd probably do your business a lot more good by spending time reviewing the content, architecture, tags, and purpose of your website. I'm suggesting you do this because for the search term "home staging houston" your site does not show up in the first 5 pages of results from Google. You might want to fix that.

Thanks, Gary. I actually just came up with that phrase earlier this evening, after I wrote this question. I really appreciate your input, though.

I don't think you're being snarky at all; you're being truthful. The website you viewed is my temporary website, which I just published recently. Yes, I really need to focus on tags. A much bigger website is in the works, which will address the content and purpose as you mentioned. Thanks again.

    Good morning from Holland!

Whilst the above is useful, I always add the caveat that it hasn't actually gotten you a tagline. Because I would have said much the same, only there's another dimension to this too - and that is the likes and dislikes of firstly your customers and secondly yourself (your customers ALWAYS come first!) So make sure you check the tagline with your customers. Choose three you like and one you don't - and see which your customers like best. If they choose the one you don't like, take a serious look at the style of your website, it could be speaking to the wrong people!

    Down to business.

I like the imagery of the "Porch Swing" it has that Southern feel!

From veranda to kitchen, your home'll swing! (Is that too cheesy?)
Bringing a Southern style to your home
Comfort, southern style (I don't think the Southern comfort guys could argue with that)
    Comfort, Texas style

Not very good. Perhaps Steve Byrne can do better? Anyway, what do you think?

Rather than waste your time and mine with unnecessary and culturally misguided nit-picking
of other contributor's contributions, let's look at the role of your service as it's delivered to clients.

Am I right in saying that the purpose of staging, in most cases, is to create buyer appeal when a house is up for sale, OR, that it's to help people make better use of the spaces and of the possessions they already have?

Might I also be correct in saying that houses up for sale that require staging are often empty, thereby necessitating a degree of "scene setting" with rented furniture or strategically placed elements to evoke the sensation of the house being lived in? That it's to help would be buyers see themselves living in THAT specific house?

Might I also be right in saying that when a house IS furnished, the role of staging and redesign is to remove or streamline clutter, to emphasis walkways and room usage, to create intimate spaces in which the existing furniture is used in new ways to draw attention to, and sometimes, to take attention away from, specific features or functions of particular spaces?

So, it's less about making things comfy and more about setting scenes and using the furniture and ornaments people already have in new ways (redesigning)? It's about evoking people's sensations and feelings of "home" and "homeliness"?

It's about creating perceptions and feelings of "ease and appeal of use of spaces" and not just seeing a house as just a house. Yes?

Then perhaps some variation of: "Porch Swing Staging and Redesign: We'll Turn Your House Into a Home" might help.

Best of luck with your business.

BTW ... Unless you've already done so, you might want to make a few solid connections with the best real estate people in your area. You might also want to set up wholesale or business accounts with local furniture and moving companies and make connections with furniture consignment stores (for possible rentals and as sources for passing on gently used furniture).

And if you don't know about them, the local chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers https://napohouston.com https://www.facebook.com/NAPO.Houston might also be a great resource for you. Ask them about associate memberships.

Since your business name (Porch Swing Staging & Redesign) already states what you do (Staging & Redesign), the tagline might want to mention a unique benefit you offer (and to who) (and not reiterate any of the words of your business name). For example: "Helping To Sell Houston Homes Faster" or "Make Your Houston Home Look Fabulous".

Jay has the right idea. Your current name includes what might be considered a name and a tagline - "Porch Swing, Staging & Redesign". So you have an alternative opportunity to restructure your name with an extended tagline, such as ..

    (The) Porch Swing
Staging & Redesign ("of Houston" or "For Faster Home Sales")

If you decide to keep your full name as is, then Jay's benefit taglines are the way to go.
