I'm assuming that you're not operating a printing business, just acting as a middleman - finding customers and printing houses. If that's the case, why should someone want to work with you - and not their local printer directly? What knowledge do you have about their business or printing that would clearly make you the right person to contact. Where are you customers located? Why would they want to switch to working with you? (Aside: If it's only because you're cheaper - that's not a great way to start your business)

You're "gonna deal with every type of printing" areya? And why will people do business with you as opposed to going to VistaPrint or PrintFirm?

What makes you the logical choice, the best vendor, and the first port of call? Do you also ahve the necessary capital to invest in this venture, or are you going to be working as a front from an existing high volume print vendor?

To begin with, I suggest you narrow your focus: you're a mile wide and an inch deep at the moment, which really, is not the best way to approach your niche.

Focus initially on one industry and one geographic area. When you've "cracked the code" and figured out how to market to that narrow audience, you can begin to expand ... to another industry and/or another geographic area. When you have the second market under your belt, add a third and a fourth.

That approach will let you learn without spreading yourself (and your resources) too thin.

Hi there - let's focus on the things you really have control over. Because printing is a tough game, which ever way you play it, and margins are as narrow as they are anywhere. That means getting a toehold is going to be hard.

But don't give up yet. You are looking to sell your expertise on the basis of customer support/service which is the right way to go about things. As the old adage has it "it's not what you do it's the way that you do it" that counts here. Anybody and everybody is a printer these days, especially online. You don't just have every Tom Dick and Harry, you have the Ahmeds, Chans and Tylers at it too - all of whom are after your deals.

You will find that there is a special kind of person who likes your *style* of customer service. That special kind of person is the kind of person who will return time and time again. When you have three of them, you can consider yourself in business and can pop the corks. Furthermore, anything and everything you do must focus on getting more of them. Sure others will pop in now and again, it's the regular guys - however big or small - that you need to reel in. A few more will do wonders for your business, and emphasizing your helpful attitudes to customers is as good a first step as any I can think of.

Designing for free does rather bring you down to the level of the ordinary - and I don't recommend it generally speaking. You're in business to make money just like they are, and the things you print for them will bring 10x what they paid you.

I do like Sarvavelamuri's idea of "Thumb Print" which has that edgyness to it - however it's taken in almost every domain extension. HOWEVER Thumbprinting.biz is free and .biz is catchy and conveys more than just a .com extension. What do you think?

Now as to taglines - how do you deal with customers? That is the core issue for a tagline.

Approaching corporate customers will always be a problem - because of gatekeepers. It's one of those things that almost every small business faces.

There are ways around this - using the display network to target company directors and decision makers directly (through their interests online - golf, fast cars, whatever). Then there is the old method of a purchased mailing list with their names on it. Go through that with a fine-tooth comb and work out which are likely to be a good match. Write them a letter. Literally, write with ink and paper. No printers, okay (sure, it's your business - but this is special). That way you'll get a way better open rate than any other method. So target carefully as it'll take a long time to write them all out. IF you get 2% response, consider it good. They are, however, high quality leads from decision makers. These are the people who will literally keep your business afloat.
