    No. Competing on price in this niche will drive other prices in the same niche down, which erodes margins for everyone, thereby: every supplier loses money.

    Competing on price in this kind of niche (where margins are slim) is a fundamentally BAD idea ... UNLESS you can buy in huge bulk, command Net 90 day terms, and sell, reorder, resell and reorder again multiple times before the first wholesale account is due, giving you leverage through inventory turn.

    I spent quite some time on your last question. I wanted answers to things that are quite specific - and all you come back with is more unfocussed waffle. Your company is the perfect prey for the unscrupulous advertising agencies who prey on unsuspecting business owners. They will give you exactly what you want - and charge you **way more** than I would.

    That is doesn't work is neither here nor there. Nor would you notice either. Because the things that will make a tagline work - and work well - are the very things you don't take any notice about.

    The markets you're entering are TOUGH. When I mean tough, I mean if you go at them head-on you'll need more than armour plating on your tank to withstand the barrage of shells you'll head into. Your advertising will be blown out of the water before it's even left its moorings.

    Either that or you'll spend way more than you'd hoped and get way less back. Well, when you ask "how much should we cut from the price" I know full well that you're not serious about the quality of your product.

    Because if you were you'd ask something else. Because that very attention to detail is what's needed in a modern commodity market. It's what makes you stand out from the crowd, and makes it worthwhile spending that little extra on.

    Only you'll shout and scream and stamp your feet and say I didn't come up with a tagline.

    Well guess what, I'm not going to.

    Why?

    Because I can't.

    There's nothing here that will make a tagline that'll speak to the millions and millions of people in the "corporate sector". All of whom are guarded by gatekeepers who have their own gatekeepers - and they are guarded by gatekeepers. Because the level you're entering at is the one where the decisions have already been made and all the person who sees your advertising has to do is click past it and get to the place they're told to go.


    Either you're special - or you're just another has-been. In four years' time someone will have out run your business and be faster, cheaper and longer-lasting. All that investment you've made will be sitting idle apart from fulfilling a few residual orders.

    The choice is yours.

    Just remember that there's an entire industry based on fulfilling your needs - and as one acquaintance of mine put it his job as a marketing and advertising chief was to be "the chief bottle emptier". That ain't how I work.

    I think you know that.
