Naming A Gourmet Caramel Business

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am turning my recreational caramel making to a small business, and am looking for a short clever name for it. Being French but living in the States, I would ideally like to find a name that recalls France while still being easily pronounced in English. I'm just making salted butter caramels for now, but will be expanding to other flavors, so I don't want to allude to flavors or types of caramels in the name. Thank you for helping me brainstorm my new business!!

You have customers who like what you make. What makes them especially special apart from their being quintessentially French? What does that very Frenchness mean to the discerning caramel gourmet?

How about "Caramel Gourmet"? (caramelgourmet.biz is available)

    Bon BonBons
    Caramella (Italian, but European-sounding)

    Hi delicesville
    My french-sounding suggestions:
    CaramelChef
    Chez Caramel
    Bon Caramel
    Caramelerie

I hope this helps. Good luck with the new business!

These are great suggestions indeed alosada! I'd say Chez Caramel is also a front runner, but it doesn't quite roll of the tongue as much as I'd like it to. What other terms have a meaning that is understood by Americans, but typically French?
To answer your question, Moriarty, the caramels have a strong butter taste without being overly sweet-tasting. But that doesn't make for a very good title! There are no unique ingredients, just 4 of them, all natural. Thanks for your insights, that'll help me formulate my message!

    How about

    ChateauCaramel *(sure, it's a knockoff!)
    Caramelbeurre *
    CaramelDelice *
    LeCaramel (only.org)
    Caramelicious (only .biz)
    DeliceDeCaramel *

How about French sounding names that aren't strictly correct French grammar (I'm really good at incorrect French grammar!)

    LeCaramelle (not .com)
LesCaramellois * (it's supposed to say something like "les vignerons")
    CaramelsurSeine
    CaramelduBourgogne
    ParisCaramel
    CarameldeParis
CarameldeBordeaux - if it's taken, just choose another name. After all, you've got Dijon Mustard which is quite well known.

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab! (if it's taken, just add another 'a')

    ButteryFrenchCaramelsIthinkthey'reabsolutelyscrummy (it's available in all domains ;-)

*available in all US domains (don't know about .us though)

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions! I have lots to think about. I particulaly like Chez Caramel, Bon Caramel, Caramel Delice and Delice de Caramel. This was extremely helpful! I'm not sure if there is a way to let everyone know what I finally decide on, but I'll try!
