Help Naming Healthy Food Delivery/catering Biz

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi Guys,

I'm in the process of starting up a food delivery/catering company (doing sandwich/lunch delivery rounds & corporate catering to start), there will be a strong emphasis on fresh, good for you, tasty food, made with love :). I'm having trouble with the business name, I've come up with some ideas below but would really like some feedback e.g. your favourite/least favourite and any other suggestions?!

Thanks a lot!

The Really Tasty Food Company

Hungry Bytes

The Snack Shak

The Braw Food Co

Delite

Balanced Bytes

Food2Go

Yummyliscious

Goodness 2 Go

Good Mood Food

I think Balanced Bytes is fun - although I'd have gone for Bites myself. But then Brian knows I bite.

What are your (potential) customers thinking about all this? A huge number of problems can be wiped off the blackboard when you approach real people who are likely to buy from you. Their simple answers strike to the core and the path becomes clear. So remember whatever names you choose from here (or any from your selection) check them out with people in the street!

Now for the small print: where are you, what do you do and for whom? Anything else that you do that's special will narrow your target audience significantly. Narrowing your focus makes your advertising more targeted, and thus speaks more directly. The trick is to direct it to the right people!

I'm a bit sleepy so ideas aren't flowing now. Answer the questions and it'll help us a little - and as I say, I like a mention of biting.

As a minimum, I'd suggest adding the word "Catering" to your name - otherwise at a glance, people won't understand what your business does. Are you only delivering food you prepare or are you delivering food from other vendors? Since many caterers craft "fresh, good for you, tasty food, made with love" - what will make your food stand out? For who? When? How often?

I'm based in central Scotland, I'll be targeting the busy full time worker who doesn't have the time to prepare a healthy lunch and would like the convenience of not having to traipse to the shops to buy an overpriced, loaded with additives and fake crap, sandwich or pasta dish.

When you choose something to eat from my company as a minimum each sandwich/dish would contain 2 servings of veg, with the option to double up with a side of my home made special coleslaw, add a piece of fruit and you have your 5 a day (UK government recommends 5 portions of fruit/veg a day, my product will allow you to get all 5 in one go at a good price).

"THE poor diet of Scots is showing little sign of improvement – despite campaigns and television adverts advising “five-a-day”.
A Government report reveals that just one in five men and 23 per cent of women regularly have the recommended five portions of fruit and veg each day. And when it comes to children, the figures are even worse – with 13 per cent of boys and 12 per cent of girls claiming to have their five-a-day. The alarming statistics, released by the Scottish Government yesterday, cover 2011."

On the naming front I'm leaning towards Balanced Bites or Healthy Food Fast but I'd like another option as I'd like to present my potential customers with at least 3 choices when I carry out my market research. I will be making up a questionnaire and tasting platters for people to try my food. I want to get as much feedback from them as possible. Of course they might not like any and give me some completely other ideas!

Thanks a lot for your help :D

Given the focus on "5-a-day" (and the story behind it), then why not align your name with the story, for example: "5 Catering" or "5-A-Day Catering"?

Expanding on Jay's suggestions, maybe "5 Portions Catering" or "Five Portions Catering", also "Healthy 5 Catering".

    No more deep-fried Mars bars!!

There's another aspect to healthy eating, it's that you can think more clearly having had a good lunch. In Germany and the Netherlands, the bread is wonderful and snacking on a slice of that is a meal in itself, what with all the seeds and nuts you get in it. The flavour and freshness are also wonderful.

What's more if you focus on what your lunches provide, you'll get better customers. For one thing, when we lived in the UK we grew our own food. The side-effect of this was - much to my surprise - was that my kids ate their greens. I realized this when other kids visited and wouldn't touch them, and looked in open amazement at my two who needed no encouragement to clear their plates. Now: when the visitors nibbled the corner of a piece of cabbage, it didn't take much encouragement after that.

    Why?

Because they liked the taste of the cabbage. They had never experienced a cabbage that tasted nice. The one thing they didn't do was eat the cabbage because it was good for them.

    Good food tastes good.

It really is that simple. The health effects were secondary, they were the result however.

    How about

    Damned Tasty
    Tasty Times
    Slurp-Slurp Gobble Gobble ;-)
    The Taste Shop
    The Flavour Shop (or establishment)
Quick and Easy but Very Tasty
    Nice 'n Tasty.
    Fresh 'n Tasty
