Title/tagline For Member Get A Member Campaign

Posted by akennedy on 250 Points
I represent a national industry trade association recently established to fund the development of national, standardized curriculum and assessments for production workers in the industry. We need to expand our current membership to bring in much needed revenue to fund the project. I would like to run a member get a member campaign but need a catchy title/tagline.

Is there a reason why you have excluded which "national industry trade association"? Knowing the industry will help us provide you with more relavant solutions.

Not really. It is the National Maritime Education Council. We are working to develop standardized curricula and assessments for the maritime industry.

This sounds like you - https://maritimeeducationcouncil.org/ - am I right? Are you in the US, if it is your website it is rather vague in every respect.

    [end whinge]

When you say the "maritime industry" we are talking about the US or international? The issues facing the shipping industry is that there are a lot of agencies looking to help and more shipowners trying to both cut costs and cut crew numbers. Neither of which lend themselves to the sort of safety measures - which is essentially what you're putting into effect. I was speaking to a gentleman in Cambodia who runs safety campaigns only he wasn't trying to be helpful so I didn't learn much from him save that the shipping industry has "been in existence for many years and has made to a great degree progress, you, nor anyone else is not going to come up with and idea to fix that in 15mins or improve Bob's sales figures."

My response was terse: "You're selling information. You deal with humans, humans who do a job of work. Understand your business at that level and I won't get all this defensive "I'm a professional and you wouldn't understand" " - - - believe me, the issues he deals with are those I dealt with in our family building business. Almost down to the letter - but not including the salt splashes.

Can you do a better job of explaining precisely why the shipping industry should take notice of you given the above attitudes?

Safety - or your side of the coin, training - is an essential part of any industry, especially one where the very thing you are maintaining is keeping you afloat. I am painfully aware of the lack of standards in the building industry in the Netherlands where I live, compared to the UK they are dreadful.

TAGLINES: need to communicate what you do to those who need it most. If you can give me some sensible, coherent answers I will do my best to come up with something - and the others will no doubt help too.

I need to know who is paying for this, and why they should choose to train their staff better when most of them come from the Philippines anyway.
