Need Help With Brand Name For A New Age Tab!

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi,

My company is launching a new age tablet with focus on the youth community. Can't divulge a lot on it, but the student community will be our TG. Its a cost effective tab with all the latest technology and apps.
I need help with a brand name for same; It should preferably have a -pad in it...
Obviously not i-pad, but something young and funky...with a pad at its end since the market is flooded with tab.
It will also be ok if a tab or pad is not part of the name, something signifying the same will also do!
Will really appreciate some help!
Thanks in advance:)

Thinking backwards a bit - how about PADdle ? I've used capitals where you could use italics, bold or a different color.

    EfficiencI (capital "i")
    The Pad
The Student Pad (do students have pads now, or is this something that went out with the ark like me?)

    NotePad (has this been used?)
Paduate (this would only work for post-paduates though ;-)

    Wojjerfink?

    XPad
    YPad
    GenUPad
    MyPad

    I like the "MyPad"!

Isn't there a Y-generation or something like that? Rather than GenUPad - GenYPad

Without knowing what makes this pad different/better, we can't give you a whole lot of useful guidance.

Hey! thanks for all the responses...i liked the my-pad, but unfortunately it already exists, registering it would be a problem...
A little bit more on the pad, apart from being marketed for students due to its cost-effective nature, it's based on Android with a look and feel of an ipad...in fact our supplier is one of the guys who sources for Apple.
It has 3G/Wifi and the best feature is its battery life, which is nearly double of a samsung tab or ipad...
The price is ranged around 1/3rd of a samsung tab....it also has a smart interface and gorilla screen like an ipad...so in a way, a samsung tab and an ipad together at a very competitive price.

What about the GenerationY-Pad? That's something these studenty creatures will recognize, especially if they're the kind that want tablets.

I mean, what is the world coming to where a student needs an iPad to do their work. A quill pen and parchment was good enough for me ;-)

I'm not going down the price route - that'll speak for itself. Plus of course, the other dangers. By the way, how good is your touch screen? I stupidly bought a knock-off iPhone in Kowloon and the screen wore out in a matter of months. Plus the internet never worked properly. A waste of $200 HK. At the very least, use a Japanese screen - not even a Korean one. The point is that a defect like this could de-rail your sales very quickly if word gets around - and with twitter/facebook that's a given with your target audience.

    A few ideas -

    SmartPad
    UniPad (= university)
    GradPad (= graduate)

Tagline - great battery, sensible quality. (boring but accurate)
    - the better Android pad.

How about UHTPad? as in UHT milk ;-) (Long-life!!)
