Realtor Needs Slogan To Play Off "hometeam"

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My realtor girlfriend is establishing her own identity and branding for marketing. We have a name with the word Hometeam in it. I being a sports minded guy think hometeam represents great possibilities for slogan/catch phrase...have to find something that both males and females can relate to. Any ideas?

All this is fine, only what are her customers going to think when they find the sporty outside image isn't what they actually get when they meet her?

You need a genuine branding that shows her at her best, and that isn't always what she thinks is best - or you. It's up to her customers - the people who will trust her to do what she says she does.

Do you still want to go with "Hometeam"? Could you put another spin on it perhaps?

I'm asking, that's all. Mis-branding is a common mistake, and an expensive one.

What does "Hometeam" mean to your prospective clients? Is it that there are 2 of you working together, or something more specific? Ideally, you want to show a benefit to being a team. What can you (both) do/know that others can't/don't easily?

Thanks Moriarty. Yes, Naples Properties Hometeam is in the bank. Yes, I also know what the client will get from her representation. An outstanding Realtor whose knowledge of the business is only surpassed by her dedication to it. The hometeam part of it represents a total collaborative effort for the client. That word to me has as much significance as the word "hometown" does for many. Thanks again.

I was going to say something along the lines that Kathleen has put with such clarity.

When you say "That word to me has as much significance as the word "hometown" does for many" - how many of your girlfriend's customers think this way? Are sporty guys her best bet in any case? After all, a girl has abilities that would puzzle the average sportsman - yet would seem ordinary to a girl. Perry Marshall was going on about a woman he met who sussed him out in the space of 35 seconds. Perry - who is a top marketer himself - was amazed at this ability. I wasn't because it's how women are.

My point is that most men wouldn't recognize her strengths even if she hit them over the head with them. The other side of this is are you forcing something on her that is inappropriate?

Her interpersonal skills and insights will sear through those of her male competition. She'll have the job done and dusted in the time it takes them to read through the paperwork.

And that's just by herself, no team. Just customers who are amazed at how fast she can find their perfect home or business space.

Thanks Moriarty & KSA. I didn't know what to expect from this forum when I stumbled across it. I had a dilemma I was working on, and realize oftentimes you can learn from an objective point of view. Your honesty was much appreciated, and though I didn't come up with the slogan, as was my purpose, maybe I received feedback that was even of greater value. To KSA, I have changed to Home Team, thank you! Moriarty, I along with CJ, absolutely loved your astute declaration of a woman's brilliance!

And don't forget that just because we're not sold on the idea, your girlfriend's customers may be. My point is to ask them!

    How about:

    HomeTeam: Collaborating with homeseekers
Home Team: Working with you and your ideas
