But why would they want to attend the sessions? Are the topics of interest to them in themselves, or are you hoping that something catchy might sway their desire to attend? Are you trying to appeal to the youth or their parents/guardians? Why should they entrust themselves to you? What's your background/skills to transfer this knowledge effectively & safely?

The very real problem is that the reality of what you're dealing with isn't sex at all. Sex, like money, is the last in a long series of decisions - many of which are decided out of habit not conscious reasoning.

This is the other side of Jay's questions. Because sex as such is something that most boys consider themselves expert at and most girls just put up with to have a boyfriend. The genders have become estranged in a very real way, and bridging that gap takes more than just the odd lecture.

How do you intend squaring this circle?

One thought for you is simply to have a gardening club. After a year, you'll find some genuine, strong relationships will have formed. Open and frank discussions of everything will be allowed: for the point is not to grow vegetables but relationships. It is a slow process, it is one that works. Oh, and they get to enjoy tasty vegetables too.

In the mean time how about "No Kidding"
"Take your paw from under my skirt"
"What's it like? Really?" (The most frequently asked question amongst girls - one of whom was a friend of mine who had been abused by her uncle for a decade. What could she say? That she knew all the details??? As I say, this is way more than sex. Deal with sex and you'll leave all the real questions unanswered and you'll leave your charges as uninformed of the reality of the situation as they started).

I am a certified sex educator to answer your question...and I have been holding session for the past three years...the youth respond to it and the turn out is usually great up to 100 plus youth.

Creating the program came from the response I have gotten for the pass three years I would like to have more youth participate in this program

To answer your questions Jay it is geared towards the youth and the parents/guardians...one of our focus is to help parents not be afriad to answer and speak to their children about sex and to be open to them about it...for the youth section we focus on teaching them how to have the best sex by WAITING and if they feel that they can not wait than how to protect themselves against STD's etc
