Holistic Health Coach Needs Help With Biz Name

Posted by katemotz on 500 Points
Please help me name my business.
What I do:
As an "Integrative Wellness Advisor", I provide personalized advice, guidance and accountability as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. I will listen carefully and help you to navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to determine what changes are necessary for you.

How I do it:
Much like a financial planning approach, I do a thorough health history, understand the goals and concerns and work closely with my clients to devise a strategy and plan to help them reach their health and wellness goals. I bring in other health practitioners if necessary, and act as the "quarterback" of the team, to ensure everyone is working together to maximize the potential for the end result.

I would like "Integrative Wellness" in the title of the business, if possible. But something after that is necessary.

Are people looking for a Wellness Advisor (they already understand what you can offer and there are a number of others doing similar work) or will your offering be something unusual? Are you a RN, MD, ND, or some other credentialed medical adviser? Who specifically is likely to want to hire your services? Why would they pick to work with you? Where are you located (assuming that you'll be working face-to-face for the most part)?

There are others offering similar services, mine will be unique in a few ways. Most health coaches are in a counseling role... face to face or over the phone, doing a lot of listening and providing verbal guidance. The unique (not exclusive) difference I will offer is a written plan, (using my financial planning background), perhaps more for the "type A" personality. No other medical credentials, although my business partner is a DC. I'm looking to work with busy, professional women (my network is largely financial professionals). I'm located in New Jersey. Thank you for your help!

Is offering a written plan a key benefit that your clients would look for? I would think that at first blush that people would be looking to you for knowledge about medicine and/or healing modalities. If not this, then how would a written plan be crafted for your client - what do you know/offer that they would be willing to pay you for?

Also, what's your meaning behind the phrase "Integrative Wellness"? Why should these words be used to name your business (instead of "Health Coach" or "Health Consultant")?

The written plan (which comes after the initial meeting, either face to face or via phone/skype/facetime) will be a key benefit.
Integrative Wellness - to bring together, unite and combine all aspects of the client's (holistic - the whole person) wellness goals. Incorporating the primary food (career, relationships, exercise, spirituality), secondary food (what is eaten or ingested) and creating "wellness" - which the client defines - while working with the other practitioners in their life (MD, DC, Dentist, massage therapist, etc) to make sure everyone is working together.
The written plan will be a great tool for the client to assist in the integration process - to provide a working document which also allows for better tracking and visual results (especially with weight loss and other testing of levels - of various indicators)

A first point: do your best customers want or need a written health-care strategy? Quite simply, I don't know and you should. If you don't, get and ask.

You mention the role of the Quarterback - would "The Wellness Quarterback: Wellness guided with a written plan"

    Focus On Wellness
    Wellness Fulcrum
    Wellness Integration

    Any good?

Thanks for the description of your services. I wonder if you really need a business name. For example, why not simply:

    Kate Motz
    Integrative Wellness Coach

My concern for your business naming is that by being "cute" you'll lose credibility.
  • Posted by katemotz on Author
I'm not sure what you mean by "cute", but I do thank you for your time and attention to this. It is very much appreciated.

As for the other ideas for names, thank you as well!

(Aside: By "cute" I meant something that a "clever/catchy" name, rather than something that's "obvious/staid".)

Did any of the names chime with you? If so, which ones and why. That way we can follow your ideas rather than our own.
