Tagline - Natural Children's Portrait Photography

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am an experienced photographer going back into business as a children's portrait photographer since having my two children.

My business is called EB Children's Portraiture.

The main focus of my work is that I am very child led. With a deeply attached parenting background my portraits are very relaxed and fun and I spend a good while making a connection with the children that I'm photographing before the camera even comes out.

From a parents point of view my work isn't stylised and set up and I encourage parents to choose a favourite location-a park/the woods/a lake etc or for me to come into the home and photograph the children engaging in a favourite activity-be that cooking or drawing or playing with cars. My sessions with the children are easy and relaxed.

Before I had my children I was working with studio portraits using unique angles and framing and a lot of over exposure and photoshop tweaking-then places like Venture in the UK became huge. Now I am doing the opposite and environmental portraits are suddenly becoming all the rage.

With this in mind I know that my tag line is important to help me to stand out from the crowd as it were.

I really appreciate any input here as I seem to be too close to the project myself to find the right creative tagline that isn't pretentious and will show the benefit of my work to potential customers!

When people hire you they're likely not thinking about the process so much as the results. So what are things that people notice about your photos? Is it the natural lighting? Or artistic setting? Or an unposed feeling?

Can you go into the "environmental portraits" a little more for us, this is your specialty and digging a little deeper helps us. This is part of the process, as it were, it can be used as an aspect of the result the client eventually sees.

In the mean time, a few ideas for you - you can tell us if you like them (or not).

    Babes in the wood.
    Natural poses with natural settings
    Gentle, relaxed and natural.

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. My computer had some issues!

These are great points and I'm going to ask a few people what they see in my images as I think I may be too close to it.

I would say that the beauty of my images is the raw quality of them, they capture the childrens childlike awe and innocence and questioning faces. Portraits with the children being very much consumed with what they are doing or their surroundings so that they are barely aware of the camera and the portrait captures the expressions that their parents see every day when there isn't a camera around.

I like Natural poses and natural settings and Gentle, relaxed and natural.

    Thank you for responding :)
