What is your primary target regarding sales? There are many petrol stations across Europe that make more money selling coffee and other things than they do selling petrol. In other words are you a gas station with all the added extras, or are you a convenience store that happens to sell petrol?

Disclaimer: your name doesn't need to be catchy. It needs to connect. What's more, it doesn't need to connect with you - it needs to connect with those who are driving by. For newcomers who are undecided whether to fuel up now or in 20kms, you have five seconds to get your message across.

So either it's petrol, clean cars or shopping baskets.

In the mean time, do you like

its more a convenience store with all the extras that happens to sell gas. but the car wash is not just your typical tunnel, its a full service operation with detailing. I could name it after the car wash aspect, but I wish I could think of a name that tied both in together somehow. Upscale convenience, with fuel, and premium car wash facilities.

Okay, so what are your customers coming for? Now your locals will know you - what about those people passing by, what will they want of your store? I know that when I've been driving a sandwich and a drink come in nicely. I guess you do that sort of thing - and when are you open? 24 hrs or just early to late?

What competition do you have, locally or otherwise, and if so, what makes you different? (Apart from the car wash which not everybody will want). Is the car wash your biggest money-spinner, and should we be focussing on that more? My point is that some parts of the business will keep operating costs covered, other parts (the fancier bits) make the real profits.

Did you like any of the name suggestions - and don't forget to test your new name with potential customers!

the car wash is the most profitable component and certainly covers the weaker portions of business in terms of margins. What sets us apart from nearby convenience competition is that we will be bigger, more modern, clean facilities, have everything under one roof, and offer the full service car wash option, which no one else has. I'll be surrounded by old and outdated facilities, we will stand out being new, but to really draw them in would like to cater to the upscale customer where this is located.

I'm struggling a bit here. The bigger-modern-cleaner in my mind goes along with bigger-faster-cheaper. It doesn't actually offer that much to a customer save it's brightness. The problem is that anybody can do this given enough money.

Before I head for bed - it being nearly midnight on this side of the planet - how about:

    Brighter: Convenience, Car cleaning
Encompass: Fuel, food and car cleaning
Spectrum: All you need is here.

What do you like of these - or don't you like any of them?? I can't do much unless I get some guidance here as to what you like or don't.

Thanks for that. If you can give us some more direction, I'm sure the others can come up with other and possibly more creative names.

(Aside: I wouldn't suggest using the word "green" with your business, since you risk "green-washing" (no pun intended) your business/customers. If your car wash uses recycled water and you offer biodiesel as well, perhaps "green". But be careful).
