Naming Help!

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I'm serving on a committee that is trying to name a newly merged Chamber of Commerce. Any catchy ideas that don't involve the names of the municipalities?

That's a tough one because Chambers of Commerce are localized and known for it.

Where I live, the Chambers of Commerce - the Kamer van Koophandel in Dutch - have been rationalized and mine is now Midden Nederland rather than Utrecht as it once was.

Which means you could call yourself after something prominent in your area - a river, forest or mountain. For example, Hilversum is in the region "Gooi en Eemland" which refers to the broader geographical names for the area without being specific as to exactly where it is.

If you can give us a hint as to where you are, we could look it up on the map ;-)

Why not have a naming contest for your membership? Let them suggest names - and then vote on it!

Pudgire, post a question on this forum - and include everything you know about the circle of clients who need your services the most. Because speaking to their needs in a name and tagline will be a huge reassurance for them.
