Question

Topic: Taglines/Names

Name Our Fans.

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
So yesterday I listened to a podcast from MarketingProfs that I really enjoyed. It was "Marketing Lessons from Lady Gaga". It stated that you should give your fans a name (Lady Gaga's fans are Little Monsters). Coincidentally we were talking about this just a few weeks ago. That we have some very diehard, loyal clients and we want to focus on them and get more input from them, etc. One of these clients kind of came up with a name that we use to describe them (and ourselves) and I may just use that but wanted additional input. We are a dog club and dog training business. Our "one per centers" as this podcast calls them are really into their dogs, they enjoy training for the sake of training (not because they have to in order to save their house or marriage) and they like to hang out at the dog club just for fun. They socialize here and our main topic of conversation is our dogs and training techniques, dog sports, etc. The name the one guy came up with is "Dog Nerds" we refer to ourselves as that and we all know what kind of dog person we are referring to (we love Dog Nerds obviously, it is not derogatory).
Just thought I'd see if there were other good ideas out there? I want to avoid the obvious cutesy stuff and not use the word "Pack" since EVERYONE does (unless it can be used in a slightly different way?).

Do you want your fan group to somehow connect to your club/business? If so, can you share its name with us? One way to measure how much someone likes a name is whether they'd be willing to wear that name on a t-shirt or cap with pride.

    Netties (shortened from annette)

Oops, sorry. My company name is WolfBrook (comes from the fact that we use wolf study in our dog training) and the fact that the property is bordered by a brook and our last name is Holbrook. The full name of the company is WolfBrook Dog Club & Park. My husband is named Mike.
I used to have a signature but I think I accidentally deleted it. Will try to remedy that right now :D.

Oh, and part of this is to do with tshirts. We had some basic ones made a few years ago but clients are always asking to buy shirts and we want to put out a shirt we are proud to have out and about.
