Help! Fashion Tagline Wanted

Posted by scarfnerd on 500 Points
I am starting a fashion line -still getting launched phase. I do a lot of unique scarves, long skirts, and tops. A little bit french inspired. A little bit retro meets cutting edge. Definitely on the modest side. Feminine. Like to bring out beauty. Want to make a statement about defining your own style. Ideas?

    Un peu de shabby chic?

Now - this niche is already well populated and expectations are not only high but well formed. That means you need to do something differently. Since you don't have customers yet, you can't get real answers from asking them. However you do need to stand out in some gentle way, in a way that will seem obvious to your best kind of customer (and you'll be part of the crowd to everybody else - which makes this kind of standing out a lot less scary!).

This is more about *how* you do things than the things you do. It's what'll give your shop that whiff of filter coffee mixed with a tinge of mustiness. The kind of place you like being, and your best customers too. They don't mind the mustiness because they know your stuff is freshly washed. They come back because of the atmosphere and your company.

And since you ask, a few taglines that might make your ears prick. I hope

    Chic du rives gauche
    It's shabby, it's chic
A la mode du shabby chic (you can always tell when I'm in a rut!)
Vive la difference, vive la mode

Mix, match, throw the lot in the bin (I would). Which do you like, if any? You may also mark me out of ten for my French - which isn't on my list of the languages I speak.

My apologies. It's a term that's used to suggest what I imagined you were aiming at "shabby chic"

I'm sorry if I offended you.

As always, it's about the audience and what your product/service will do for them. My suggestions:

    Your style. Your way.
    Be bold. Be beautiful.
    Feminine and fearless

Does your business name (brand) include the word "fashion", or another word that indicates you are starting a "fashion line" company? Without knowing your name, here are a couple of directions for you to consider ..

    Back To Paris* Style, Today

A Touch of Modern Paris*, Yesterday

(*pronounced as pa-ree in all spoken communications)

Your F-words - Fashion, Feminine and French.

It doesn't include fashion in it. It's my name which happens to have a French history and the city I am in

I am wondering if I threw everyone off by mentioning French and retro

What if the clothing was modern feminine - would it invoke a different sense - to help guide the tag line

If your "name and city" are your brand name, you need to state what you do (fashion) in the tagline, e.g. "Feminine Fashions For Modern Style".

If "Modern Feminine" is your brand name, then something like ..

    Just Right Edgy Fashions
    Edgy Fashions in French Flavors

    Fashion Flowing like silk
    flow like silk
    summer breezes, elegant curves

    any better?
