Downtown Health/fitness Studio Needs A Name!

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Hi,

I am opening a personal training studio in downtown Boston and it needs a name! My original business plan was for a larger facility, but I stumbled across this small space that works out even better for my current client's wants/needs, so I am switching gears. Below is more information on the space, what I do and who I am hoping to attract.

Location:
Downtown Boston
A SMALL SMALL SMALL single room studio- 400sq ft
Basement level

Industry offerings:
-Private personal training with nutrition counseling
- 2 on 1 personal training
- Running club
- Outdoor bootcamp

I am a strength and conditioning coach, who specializes on the whole health package. I give my clients both fitness and nutrition advice, and I would like to emphasize that.

Target market:
-Indoors- (primary income)
I am targeting mature men and women(55+) and professional women (30+) clientele looking for a private environment to learn how to become healthier. People interested in a small studio environment, verse a gym or extreme workout environment

-Outdoors- (secondary income)
Active city professionals of all ages.

I currently have 15 clients (80% women), and they all are active professionals.

There is NO retail front, so the name has to really be easily searchable and clear.

A few ideas that I have come up with are:

Custom Fitness
fit foundation
the fitness room
Active influence
Superior Shape Studio
Form First Training
The Workout Room
Kerri Fit Studio

Almost all of my competitors in the area have Boston in their names..

Any advise and name ideas are super appreciated!!

Where in Boston are you? Can you incorporate the neighborhood you're in (Back Bay, Beacon Hill, etc.) for your name (if so, that'll make it more "neighborly"). Unless your name is recognized in the area, I'd stay away from including that. One idea to consider: "Whole Health Fitness". If you're proud of the small space, and make "small-is-beautiful" your mantra, then you could go with "The Little Fitness Studio" or "Itty Bitty Fitness".

I'm not sure that you need to include your location. What you really need to do is express the fact that your fitness club is cosy and friendly. Going down those stairs to a small room is sort of intimate, "just for me" sort of thing.

What's more with two of you and one of them means they won't look an idiot if things go wrong.

    You could be

    One Small Space
    One small gym
    Your small gym
your small space - there's just enough room for me and you.
Kerri's little place - no more space than you need to get fit.

Are there any here you like?

    Kerri's Li'l Gym
Personal Training in Downtown Boston (or your specific neighborhood's name)

The location is near North Station. It's split in the middle of the north end and west end..

Although I like the small aspect, I'm not sure using the word small for fitness is a good idea. And, if you were to search for a private studio, you may not search for studio and definitely wouldn't use the word small or little.

    Down in the basement!
    North Station Comfy

"Kerri's Fitness (Studio) of North Station"

Regarding search marketing, you can use your best dozen or so keyword phrases, such as "private fitness studio", in title tags, salted in website copy, in directories etc. You don't have to rely just on your name to be found in search.
