Need Name For Stationery And Office Supplies Site

Posted by Gourav on 250 Points
My company deals in Stationery Goods and Office Supplies. I am thinking to take my company online and start an eCommerce Portal.

Kindly suggest me some small and pronounceable domain names (.com preffered) like Zappos, OfficeYes, OfficeDepot, eBay etc

Thanks :)

You already have a company, and it will have an image in your marketplace - it's what we call branding. Sharing something of that will help us meet the needs of your customers. That way they'll both recognize it's you and be aware of its strengths.

In the mean time - how about using the theme "Paperclips" (a direct knockoff from Staples)

paprclipz.com [the other variants are taken]
    cllipz.com
    officeshack.biz is available too
    staplz.biz

What do you think? Which do you like, or not. Let's hear from you!

Which regions, geographically, do you sell in and which new regions will you ship to (shipping fees being a cost of doing business that's likely to cut into your already slim margins)?

Hello, I Think you can check Top Stationery Sites names and choose which will suit according to your requirement.

@Gary: We are based in India and we do business across India only.

@ellarich1511: I have tried a dozen names, combined many existing brand names to curate new names etc but didn't came across anything which is appealing like Parker, Cello, Camel, Faber-Castell, Pilot etc

Did you want any further suggestions from me? I can do that, if you're happy to answer the questions I put about your business and its current branding. This does not have to include your current business name, but that would make things easier.

I presume you didn't like any of the other suggestions.

The names you like are because of a history of use - in themselves they are either people's names or don't reflect the category in anyway apart from the reputation they have built around the names over time - otherwise they are just abstract.

So you could just pick a word or a thing you like (eg the lead character from a book - eg Starbucks, or a placename - eg Amazon, or an object which will generate good graphics - eg Apple). When it is established it becomes a lot more memorable than a generic-type name, but getting going is tough as you have to work much much harder to get it started.

    Thank you all guys.

    @Jay: Thanks mate :)

@Saul: I completely agree with you. Finally I have got a name which is small and have a meaning as its dictionary word. Anyway, Thanks and Wish me Luck. Hope I overcome all barriers and make the name a Brand that people will be able to associate with just like we do with Amazon, Apple etc

Good luck with your branding mission. Please remember that Apple and Amazon have spent large sums in branding, prepare yourself for a hefty bill.
