Catchy Name For Silent Auction School Fundraiser

Posted by reeder.susan on 250 Points
We are a small private, Classical, Christian school in Louisville, KY. We are planning our annual benefit fundraiser for this year with "A Taste of" theme. There will be a silent auction and local restaurants there to sample their food, along with a small sampling of local entertainment...comedians and musicians. We are looking for a catchy name for the event that sort of ties it all together. Our event will be held at the end of February.

Thanks for the suggestions....we will have drinks, but want to keep it on the "down low" and not call extra attention to that part of it. The past couple of years we have held our benefit in March and had a basketball theme called "Hoops Hysteria". The school name is Covenant Classical Academy. We incorporate a lot of Latin words into some of the things we do since the students all take Latin.

"A taste of ..." what? Honey? Fame? Money? Success? Revenge? Life? Death? Parenthood?

The name needs to be relevant, not catchy. To this end it needs something to be relevant to.

A taste of local restaurants....we are not having a sit down dinner, but heavy appetizers or samplings from several different locally owned favorite eateries. The entertainment is a sampling of local favorites too....a comedian, a bluegrass band, and a former Broadway performer/opera vocalist.

I think we incision having a catchy name or title for the event with a sub-title that better spells out exactly what it is.

A couple more thoughts: "A Taste of Delight" or "Taste the CCA Difference".

Firstly, thankyou for participating, Susan. It makes a huge difference when the author gets involved. It was too late last night to post anything, but my first impressions were of "it'll be a buzz".

    A few ideas -

    A taste of Community
    Our local taste
    Our local flavors
A Community flavor [this could be A community taste if you're wedded to "taste"]
    The local buzz
    Friends, Food and Song

Now I'll try to dig up some schoolgirl latin. It got me into uni (it was a requirement back in them days for my college)

    A local epicure
Loci saporem [you are really going to have to help with the grammar here!!!!!!!]
    Epicurus localis

I think I'll give the Latin a rest. I do speak several European languages, but Latin isn't one of 'em :-(
