Fun Name For A Popcorn And Treats Business

Posted by dlpfledderer on 250 Points
Trying to come up with a fun name for a popcorn and treats concession company that will be used as the company grows and evolves into a store front.

All the names that I have come up with have been taken.

I want it to be fun, but also when I create the logo I want to brand it on t-shirts and other promotional items that someone would want to buy or for promotional handouts. I am also thinking about creating a character as well to promote the business.

But I need some input. My right brain is not working and I am stuck. We are in the business planning stage.

    1. Who is your primary target audience? Where?

    2. What makes you different from, and better than, other companies that do what you want to do?

    3. Where/how will your target audience learn that you exist?

The business and marketing plans should probably precede the naming.

Thanks MGoodman but I have thought of all that and I have all that. Right now I need a name so I can file for a fictitious name with the county and get a federal id number and sales tax number.

Do you have buyers? Is there a proven market for your products and what will it cost you to reach and to sell to this market? In what time period, at what cost per customer, and with what kind of return do you expect to operate? What are your repeat buyer projections?

You may "have all that", but we don't have any of it. That is why you are being asked. We have to know something about you business in order to come up with anything relevant.

If all you need is a name in order to file some documents, use ABC Enterprises. In fact, I don't think you need to have a fictitious name for filing taxes. (I am not an attorney, and this is not legal advice.)

When you are ready for "real" naming, you can have another d/b/a using a name that will mean something to your target audience. As Mike Steffes says, anyone who is charged with coming up with a name that you will actually use with your customers will need the requested information.

A good name isn't just about what you want to sell. It's more about the unique benefit your target audience should expect.

    Thanks everyone!

The business is a concession vendor selling Gourmet Popcorn and homemade treats.Selling at fairs and one day events that accept food vendors.

I was just looking for a little feed back to get the creative juices flowing. I found another post on here for Popcorn company names, so that helped.

    Thanks for the input!

PipPop - Pippa Poppa - PipPip Pop (with Pippa Poppa as your character)

    Grannie Mel's

    Othello's - Moreish treats

    Wolf Huffs / Huffen Puffs

    Pirate Jack's Barrow

    Happy Hippo Treats

Took me fifteen seconds to get "Wolf's huffs" ... I'm not sure about Hippo treats though; I'm not that keen on them. They like rivers without swimmers. Or was I confusing them with crocodiles?

    PopGunn

    Pop Goes The Weasel

    BlowUp

    Over Blown!

    Thanks!

I like Pirate Jack's Barrow. I'll have to think on that an run it by the others.

    Thanks to you both

I'm a kid at heart and really into the mystical and fantasy programs but I didn't want to be Korny.

You know Harry Potter, anything Vampire. Or even Elementary and CSI type of programs. Futuristic as well.

    Thinking Gourmet Popcorn

    Popcorn Americain
    The Chef's Popcorn
    The Captain's Popcorn [a direct knock-off of Saul's pirate]
    Vintage Popcorn
    The vintage popcorn
    Popcorn Vampires
Vlad the popcorner [ I'm only half sure of that one ... ]
Count Popcorn [ that really sucks ]

Well, you get my drift! Mix 'n' Match [TM]

But please ... korny ... that hurt ;-)

Didn't like my play on Korny? ;o)

    Have a good night.

What do you think of these?
    D'Lights Gourmet Popcorn
    PopKorn Junction
    Popping Ears
    Ear Popping
    Popcorn Corner
    Tree House Korn
    Whistle Stop Popcorn
    Popcorn Mill
    KornPop Shanty
    Popcorn Shanty
    The Popcorn Shanty

Korny ... my ears are still ringing!

    I like

Whistle Stop Popcorn (great for a stand at a fair - thinking of green tomatoes!)
Popcorn Shanty (but it doesn't share the gourmet element you want)
PopKorn Junction (could also be Popcorn)

"ear popping" is too vague for me.

Test it on your audience. See what they like - it's not up to us. Meeting your market half way is one of the easiest ways to find the best name (or tagline) for your business. All the best marketers do this, for good reason - they want the best customers!

    Thank Moriarty,

I think Popcorn Junction was already taken that is why I was going for PopKorn Junction.

    Thanks for the feed back!
