Where do you serve? Who specifically are your clientele?
What's the meaning behind the name "Doting Dolls"?
What do you think that a tagline will do for your business?
Why would someone choose your services?

Can you be more specific about your target audience? Where do they live? Do they currently have an in-home care-giver, or are you having to convince them they need one? Who actually makes the purchase decision? What factors are most important to them when evaluating prospective care-givers?

Then your positioning benefit: Why should someone hire you instead of a competitor? What important and unique benefit (or end-benefit) do you provide?

And where will people learn about you? Where will your target audience see/hear your tagline? What do you want them to know about you based on the tagline? Are you concerned that the name of the company doesn't give enough information? Why do you feel you need a tagline?

The answers to these questions will help us come up with some direction for you.

Where do you serve? // Northern NJ

Who specifically are your clientele? // It varies but mostly older adults

What's the meaning behind the name "Doting Dolls"? // I have been a nurse for over 5 years, and a lot of the patients have said , "you're such a doll." So I liked the idea, as my employees are doting dolls, meaning they will take care of all your in home needs with a smile

What do you think that a tagline will do for your business? I believe a tag line will add something to our company, I want to convey that my staff is RELIABLE, CARING< HONEST...

Why would someone choose your services? Well, we offer a range of services, again it could be n adult son, who wants someone to drive his father to his doctors appointments on Wednesday mornings, or someone who wants our staff to help their elderly mother do her laundry or light house keeping...another scenario would be if someone has an ill parent or grandparent and they want someone to stay there 24/7 to help bathe, dress, feed their family member.

Thanks for your response, it prompted me to think deeper about my company! :)

FWIW, "doting" usually means "excessively fond." Unless that's what you want to communicate as your main message, you might want to reconsider the name.

"Doting" certainly doesn't conjure up thoughts of "reliable" or "honest."

You might sound more professional with something like "Bergen County Homecare" or "Garden State Homecare."

"Doting Dolls" sounds a little too cutesy for a professional service business, IMHO.

    p.s.-Thanks again!

We DO want to convey that our staff is very fond of each and every client, we want them to feel special like they are doted upon and that someone truly cares for them

"... genuine care" would be very appropriate for a phrase in the tagline. "Doting" has a connotation of being too-too much/over the top. And especially with "dolls" I think it risks sounding false, while "genuine care" (for example) sounds sincere.

I'd play it very straight with the name (e.g., "Bergen County Homecare," etc.), and then extend it with a tagline that gets into the emotional payoff (e.g., "Professionals Who Really Care").

Since the elderly are your target market, it would make sense to include an indication of that in your business name ("Sussex Senior Homecare" or "Sussex Golden Homecare"). And a tagline that differentiates your from your competition: "Making each day a little easier (better)" or "Loving Lifestyle Support").

And what about the people who need your services?

For days of enjoyment knowing everything's looked after [a bit wordy ...]
Your Contentment through our care [or sumfink like that]
    Our care means your contentment
    Our care makes you comfortable

There! Not terribly good, but they'll do for a first attempt. Plus I'll bet that no few of your target audience are the children of parents getting too old to look after themselves (I've got a small collection of my own ;-)

Plus, please don't go around telling people you're honest. I know you are, but there are ten who aren't for every one of you. So somewhere in your copy you need to say something about yourself that adds some real clarity: because if you demonstrate your honesty rather than saying it, you'll find that people trust you in return. It really works. It's a little like my abrasive, up-front style - it's clear and openly honest. Most don't mind, a rare few don't like it - but the proportion of questions I have accepted is way ahead of anyone else.

More to the point, the people who like your up-front style will love you, and become loyal customers.
