Need A Business Name For My Diverse Company!!!!

Posted by Mayra on 50 Points
Hi! Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

I'm looking to name and brand my new developing company. I do Project Management, Life Management (ie personal assistant stuff), & Event Management (ie planning & oversight)

I'm interested in something kitchy or quirky or unique enough to set me aside/out from this seemingly very inundated industry. I would like a company name that could express this or that could be supplemented by a tagline that would relay that this is a multi-faceted company.

All help is appreciated.

Manageably ("so as to be manageable")(also Manage + Ability).

My best advice is to avoid "kitchy" and "quirky": the will not brand you (only time and people's attitudes towards your results will do that). Might you also attempting to do or offer too much? There's a lot of difference between being a personal assistant and event management (I know someone who's done both but not at the same time).

    Focus. Focus. Focus.

Who is your primary target audience? What unique and important benefit do you deliver for them?

@ Gary. Thnx for the feedback and I've done actually all three- usually two of the three components at the same time. PA work isn't my focus but some of my project management clients have wanted me to stay w/ them after "our" project is over mostly because they like the way I work. I've done event management big and small and I want to continue to do it more. So ultimately my main focus is both the Project & Event Management portion.

*PA isn't my focus but it's a service that I can have available to my clients depending on scheduling & current client load.

    Thnx!

@mgoodman my focus thus far has been young & older professionals, some work/employment place projects and some personal home projects. My business has continued through word of mouth thus far, usually a client referring me to another one for a temporary project.

I currently have a few carry-over's (meaning i've stayed on with a particular client beyond the scope of the initial project) but those take minimal time in the larger scope of my work. I want to branch out beyond internal referrals but want to put my best public foot forward so if that means narrowing my scope to Project & Event Management then that works just fine as I can sub out non-"me" specific PA work to another person/staff.

    thnx! hope that helps

OK. So let's focus on the core positioning BENEFIT you deliver to clients -- not the mechanics of what you do, but the way you improve the lives of your clients, how they FEEL when you do your thing for them, why they REALLY hire you.

Ideally the name and tagline, taken together, will express this positioning benefit in a compelling way. Forget "kitchy" and "quirky." Naming is serious business, not entertainment. The best way to stand out is to offer a unique benefit that's really important for your primary target audience.

When you communicate "multifaceted" you're really saying that you aren't exactly right for anyone. (If a brain surgeon is also a great house-painter, do you suppose anyone would hire him/her to do either job? "Pat's House Painting and Brain Surgery")

Ultimately each (project & events) have very similar components. They have a beginning & and end, tons of moving parts in btwn, continual oversight of the tasks that have to be done to get the best results both in budget and outcome measures.
They really hire me because I am better than their right hand in that I handle a project the way they would want it done if they could have more of themselves, more time, etc. The benefits are that my clients don't ever second-guess if a project will get done. They get peace of mind, they relieve themselves of the minutia that goes into every task and they get to completely enjoy the benefits of the outcome, as they should expect.

Since they're buying you, use your name.
