Tag Line For Blog - Help Please

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi, starting new blog which is about my latest challenge. It is called the Ordinary Olympian and I an undertaking 28 challenges - one in each of the 28 sports categories for Rio 2016. Along the way I hope to run events and raise awareness of the sports and try to bring sport to those less priveledged.

Current idea is: 1 man, 28 sports, no 'ordinary' challenge.

Thoughts please? Not sure it conveys the purpose of trying to raise awareness and bring sports to underprivileged.

Nice idea, but difficult to measure success. That's probably because the objectives are so fuzzy. How much do you expect to raise awareness -- from what to what, among what target audience? And how will you know if you have brought sports to underprivileged? How many? To what end?

If you can define success more precisely we can come up with a great tagline. With just the vague objectives, the one you have will probably do just fine.

@mgoodman: thanks for the comments. I have been thinking about how I would measure success and I guess I would break the challenge into two pieces: one to promote the Olympic sports and two to be able to raise enough money to sponsor someone to take part in a sport/take on an adventure.

For part one: success would be measured by number of people inspired to take up/try a new sport, one they had not necessarily considered before. I will be putting on events to help them try them out.

For part two: success would be measured by number of people I can effectively sponsor to help them achieve a sporting or adventure goal. (One that they would not normally get to do because of expense of equipment, entry fee etc). Ultimately, I would like them to then pay it forward, namely use their sporting challenge to raise money to sponsor the next persons and so on.

Hope that gives a bit more to go on - I can't truly give definite numbers but hope this explains a bit more if what I would see as success.

You may want to use the cable channels 'reality' sports model - both for entrants and sponsors.

The best of a given sport, one him/her to do all 28, perhaps a celebrity entrant.'

The challenge of becoming involved with a sport/adventure after the event will be impossible to measure - keep to the entertainment value...then perhaps a running blog for tracking.

Jay has some great tag lines...
