Non-profit, Equal Parenting Time Organization

Posted by feathercabin on 250 Points
The name of our organization is Fathers and Families of New York; however, we represent ALL non-custodial parent, both men and women. Members include men, women, grandparents and others that are caring non-custodials.

Looking for dynamic tagline to grab the attention of parents, politicians and others. We are a not-for-profit organization promoting a presumption of equal parenting (time 50/50).

Currently, our court system favors the mother and fathers tend to get "visitation," our group is working to change this presumption in the State of New York through education, rallies and legislative offerings.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

It seems to me that the NAME of the organization is at odds with the desired communication, since it specifically references FATHERS. My suggestion would be to focus exclusively on fathers, since that is probably the vast majority of your constituency, and the one that will resonate most with your target audience (i.e., "parents, politicians and others").

What is particularly unclear is what you want to communicate in the tagline and/or what you want your primary target audience to DO.

Separate issue: Who are the parents and "others" whose attention you want to grab? The more focused you can be with your target audience, the easier it will be to communicate with them. "Parents ... and others" is pretty amorphous. And I'll bet you can be more specific about the politicians too. (Maybe New York State legislators?)

NY State Legislatures is correct. You are also correct in that the group's main focus has been non-custodial fathers.
