Brand Name For Hip Drapery Line

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
posting for a friend... she is trying to come up with a name for a drapery line that evokes a modern, "hip", urban image - not the traditional grandma's draperies sort of name... "[brand name?] Draperies".. Any interesting ideas on possible names and taglines?

    What's unique about the product?

What geographic region are you selling to?

    Who are the target customers?

Thanks for being here, but we can't be of much help if you don't provide some basic info. Have you visited the Important Guidelines page?

Do you mean drapery, as in fabric by the metre/yard, needles, cotton reels etc...

Or do you mean drapes, as in curtains, window coverings.

And which country is the business operating in? (This is a global website, and the mainly-English-speaking contributors come from one nation, divided only by a common language...)

Example. In Britian, "Sorry chaps, looks like this is curtains" has a WW2, impassively-facing-imminent-death ring about it. Which would make it funny. In any other country it is probably incomprehensible.

    Cheers

Whoops, sorry, I see now the market is USA...

Still need to understand WHAT you're selling though please.

Chris, I think Mike already answered your questions in his recent posting. He's selling window treatments (curtains).

Mike, I've been thinking about names like...

    Chi-Chi Windows
    WindowBling
    Windorazzi

Not my finest efforts, but I'll keep pondering!

You could leave the words window, curtain, or draperies OUT of the company name and put one of them in the tagline. If so, you might be able to do something like:

    Interior Drama
"Window dressing that stirs the imagination."

Other offbeat names along those lines:

    Glass Dramatics
    French Dressing
    Glamorpuss Designs

That's it from me for now... insomnia is over.

Wait! There's a name for you:

    Insomnia Designs

Using your own words, Carolyn, and then some:

    Urban Window Dramatics
    Loose Elegance
    Liquid Chic Draperies
Swell Drapers (or Swell Custom Drapers)
    Urban Window Wardrobes
    Metro Window Wardrobes
    MetroChic Draperies
    Casual Lush Draperies
    Giddy Window Couture
    Reckless Glamour Window Dressing
    Raving Window Elements

    Enough? ;]

    The Window Dress
--ready to wear for your windows

    Trendy Tende
--puts the chic back in [window] dressing

    ("tende" is "drapes" in Italian)

    Window Chic
--because your windows want to be as well-dressed as you do

Talk about an unforgettable name! I love mocando's idea.

(Better be careful with a website URL, though. You wouldn't want customers inadvertently visiting pornography sites.)

Who would name a business after a myth, Suze? ;]
