A Name For Semi Precious Jewlery Store

Posted by newbiz40 on 250 Points
Hi,

My name is Sammy and I am opening a semi precious stone jewlery. Some will be hand made and other not. I am looking for catchy name. I was thinking about 7x jewlery because of the meaning of number 7 through history and because x is very catchy but I am not sure about this any more.

Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks

The name needs to communicate to, and resonate with, your primary target audience. So who IS your primary target audience? Where? What unique benefit do you offer and provide? Why should someone in your target audience deal with you instead of a competitor?

I would forget about "catchy" and seek instead clear communication -- of what you offer and/or the benefit your target audience should expect. 7x is too cryptic. Most people won't know (or care) what it means.

You might consider conducting informational interviews with a dozen folks in your target audience to see what's important to them when shopping for precious stone jewelry. Listen for the words they use and the emotions behind them. That approach usually leads to GREAT business names and taglines. If you are not confident you can do a good job of this, hire a market research professional.

As Michael's indicated, 7x is probably too cryptic and not as meaningful for the average customer as it may be for you. So why not start with a name that does tell people what makes your products unique and/or special? Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

My audience will be mainly women who like jewelry. Semi precious stones means minerals, vulcanic stones and similar.

" ... women who like jewelry" is too broad an audience. There are probably a billion of those folks, and there is no way you'll be able to afford to reach them all. Time to narrow your sights a bit. How about an audience that you can realistically reach, say, 50% of the market with an affordable marketing budget?
