Need A Tagline / Theme For Faith-based Initiative

Posted by sb on 500 Points
I need a theme that uses the word "purpose" or "purposeful" to define the initiative of a church's mission for this coming year.

Weak examples are:

Live with purpose.

prepare with purpose

Not sure I completely understand. What do you want this tagline or theme to do? Why is it only for a year? Do you expect people to be without purpose after the year?

Perhaps you can start by giving us a clear definition of the target audience for the theme, the name of the organization, and an explanation of what you want the target audience to DO as a result of the theme. Otherwise we'll just come up with a bunch of meaningless words surrounding "purpose."

Also is this "purpose" as in "on purpose" (intentional) or "with purpose" (directed, not accidental) or "primary purpose" (main use) or "big goal" (purpose in life), or some other "purpose?"

    Cross-purposes? :)

Very good questions. Thank you. Let me see if I can best answer these.

The mission for both this church and this women’s group in the church we’re trying to create this tagline for is “service”. They serve others. What they want is to start off with arousing support rallying around purpose, having a purpose. Motivating people in a form on an evergreen type of initiative by drawing on a purpose to act to serve.

It’s not one of the easiest tasks I’ve been asked but I do appreciate your thoughtfulness and being meaningful about this.

Does the word "purpose" need to be explicitly in the name, or would synonyms such as "aim" or "goal" be acceptable? Would "Serve With Purpose" be considered "weak"? Why do people in your church choose to serve (i.e., what's their purpose)? Where is your church located? Do you want to incorporate the name of the church or community into the phrase?

So is the objective to get more people to "serve?" More church members involved? Or is it fund-raising so you have resources with which to work?

What does success look like for you? How will you know when you're there?

A side note: "Serving others" is a noble mission, but it's quite general. To motivate action you may want something more specific and concrete. Are you going to serve neighbors? Homeless/hungry people throughout the country/world? How about people battling an illness or disease? Victims of spousal abuse?

These are great questions. These are women members of the LDS church who are looking to continue to reinforce their Church's mission of service. They figured that the lead-in would be to incorporate the word passion. This is more of an inter-community tagline rather than a full on marketing format for those outside of the Church community, I figure.

More generalist, than specialist (ie "Victims of Spousal Abuse"), I hope this makes sense.

Hey guys, I'm going to close this out. I wasn't able to achieve congruence here, do you know how to close this out without awarding the points? I don't think any allocation is justified here to be fair.

Thank you kindly for your insights.
