Electrical Contractor Name And Tagline.

Hi, i am looking mainly for a professional tagline and finishing touches to my name for our new Electrical contractor that is based in Lakewood, NJ. Designing and building electrical systems-installing generators- Residential commercial and industrial.

please note: i would like to use my last name as the name for my company, since i am well known in our community.

    Residential | Commercial | Industrial

    I'd keep it very simple. You need to communicate what you do and who you serve. And you want to capitalize on the awareness of your name/reputation in the community. If you didn't want to use your name, I might suggest "New Jersey Electrical" or "Garden State Electrical," but I'm sensing from your description of the situation that your name/reputation is of more value than your geographic location.

    The drawback to using your name, as I'm sure you're aware, is that it makes it tough to sell the business someday -- without letting someone else use your name.

    My response: I don't feel a need. What else would you want to communicate? I had considered adding "Contractor," but I couldn't figure out what that adds to the communication. And in naming (and taglines) shorter is always better.
