Need A Brand Name For A Wellness Program

Posted by serenachenoy on 250 Points
Hi! We're a non profit cancer wellness centre that is setting up a Wellness program targeted to small/medium sized businesses. My colleague has developed a program (kinda like an EAP - employee assistance program) that focuses more on motivation for lifestyle changes (stop smoking, weight loss, exercise, etc.). The idea is to reduce absenteeism in the workplace, be healthy, tips to prevent cancer (yes not easy or possible but every positive change helps!!), etc. She originally called the program the "Healthier Me Challenge" which is too generic and overused.

Need help for names...keywords are: motivation, challenge, wellness, healthy, me, and anything else related.

Thank you!!!!

It's going to be a real stretch to position this organization as a CANCER wellness centre, since your target audience probably doesn't think there's a lot you can do/teach to prevent cancer. And I'm guessing there are a lot of wellness centres, gyms, psychologists, chiropractors, nutritionists, healthfood stores, and others competing for the wellness/health consumers in your area.

So maybe the thing to do is talk to a sampling of your target audience (employers? HR professionals?) and see what THEY think is important in this area, and what might interest them in becoming supporters. If you start with this kind of research-based approach, you'll end up with a better marketing plan, not just a better name.

Just be sure the interviews are not sales calls in disguise. Make them 100% information interviews, or you will undermine the whole thing and put your credibility at risk.

mgoodman: thanks for your comment. We actually exist as a cancer wellness centre - we've been around over 5 years. We have helped over 1000 families in and around our area. We are recognized by health professionals and are one of the only wellness centres in our area. The issue is always fundraising and this was a way to not only bring in extra money but help others. Although I agree about cancer prevention 100%...we can't truly prevent it, but we can make lifestyle changes to improve our health.

We have also spoken to a few HR/employers but I think we will continue to do so before we come up with something.

Thanks again for your response, it is much appreciated.

If your name is respected in your area, then why not leverage it for the wellness program?
Alternative, you might consider a name like: Healthier Change (Program) or Time For Change (Program)?
