Tagline Still Troublesome

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello, Again!
I posted previously for help with a name for a dog rescue and support for rescues (providing addition space for dogs).
The consensus of opinions was to go with Ari's Wish, in honor of my late son.
The tagline is still not quite "there". I feel it needs to be fairly general to allow us to add and/or subtract programs.
Something like "bettering dog's lives", "a dog rescue network", "a dog welfare organization", "helping rescues rescue", "for the love of dogs", "for the sake of dogs", "until every dog is safe".....not good but general.
Thanks for any help!

Since the name you chose doesn't clearly state what the organization does or for who, it's up to the tagline to clarify. For example:

    Ari's Wish: Supporting Dog Rescuers
Ari's Wish: Loving Rescue For Dogs

I agree. I just couldn't nail it. How about "Helping dogs and their rescuers"? Too long?

Or how about "Ari's Ark, care (or a haven) for rescued dogs"? That could include dogs we rescue or other rescues do.

Re: "Helping dogs and their rescuers"

"Helping" is a really weak word. It suggests you don't really DO whatever it is you're supposed to do. It says, "If someone else does the heavy lifting, I'll pitch in a little bit too." Don't try to be too clever and parse the words too precisely.

I agree with the "helping" thing.
    Here are my thoughts:

A home for abandoned dogs - not really abandoned if already rescued
Care for dogs without homes - it infers that we are looking for a home for them. There own rescue does that.
Giving rescued dogs a chance - what is the chance? Actually we are giving the rescues a chance to pull more dogs at the 11th hour because we can give them emergency housing

It sounded to me as if your focus was on rescuing abandoned dogs, so I'm getting a little confused now. If the dog is already rescued, and their rescuer sorts out a home for the dog, what's the role of Ari's Wish?

Backup and support for Dog Rescue
    Emergency kennels for rescued dogs

when dogs are pulled, it is usually by a rescue that is not a "bricks and mortar" organization. They are, for the most part, reliant upon foster homes to care for the dogs until they are adopted. Adoption can take time. There are applications, reference and home checks etc...so it takes time. The animals have to have all shots, microchip, treatments done. Some are sick or hurt. One rescuer now has 20 dogs in her home because there is no place to go. we could give her space to rescue another dog.

How about "Ari's Wish", saving more dogs ? Would that work?

How about Ari's Wish...."saving dogs by helping rescues"

Thanks. That's a bit different to over here in Europe where the rescuer and the dog's home are most often the same, so we have abandoned dogs, but wouldn't really say rescued dogs. You'd be known as a Dog Rescue Center or a Dog's Home in the UK (very different from kennels).

What do you think about "Ari's Place", a support for dogs in need

I got to thinking and Ari's Wish started to bother me because his wish was to open his own animal hospital where he would treat rescue animals and pets of homeless people along with regular patients. I think "Place" represents the hospital and "support" represents the care he would have given. Also, "dogs in need" could be any dogs: abandoned, strays, owner dumped, special need, emergency housing needed by other rescues or even dogs that we may rescue ourselves. Please jump in and give me your thoughts. I need name for the incorporation application asap. Thanks!!!

    "Ari's Dream" is another option.

"Place" sounds like it's where he is, as in "Come over to my place."

"Dogs in need" is not nearly as clear as "abandoned dogs," and it doesn't tug at the same emotional heartstrings. "Abandoned" communicates an emotional tug much more than "in need." The thought of abandonment will grab people in a way than "need" wouldn't.

Good point! But what we are doing is not was Ari's wish was. He wanted to open his own hospital. That's why I chose "Place"

Ari's Dream....support (or help?) for abandoned animals. Better?

Ari's Ark - a haven for dogs in need and their rescuers, too!

We had considered "ARK" but there is another "ark" type rescue here and we didn't want to confuse people. We would also need a fairly short tagline (around 4 words?)

How about ARI'S DREAM...support for abandoned dogs
