Wedding Planning Business Name

Posted by klbfacebook on 125 Points
Hi all, I am starting a wedding planning business, but seem to be stuck on what to call my venture. I want something that is chic, timeless, not overly wordy, and that evokes the feeling of kinship, love, and revelrie. I want something that is unique, but not over the tops. Ideas I ahve had include:

* Wonderfully Made Weddings
* Gathered Weddings
* Ember weddings
* Relished Weddings
...or anything else?

    It depends a lot on what your target audience thinks and how they express their values when it comes to wedding planners. The name shouldn't be mostly about what YOU do and what you think of your offering. It should be about the unique and compelling benefit promise that's most important to your primary target audience.

    Have you interviewed several of these folks? Who are they? Where? What's important to them? How do they select a wedding planner? What do they wish they had that they can't find?

    Once you have the answers to these questions the name will come easily. Without those answers we're going to be as lost as you are.

    Would you consider just removing the word Wedding(s) from the name? If I'm an engaged couple, just hearing the word Wedding gives me heartburn because of the costs, the planning, and the decisions. It can trigger a lot stress.

    To this end, I'm not necessarily thinking about words like Calm, but rather words that describe their life after the wedding itself and get the emphasis off of the actual event. How about:

    Choose from what you are providing = Bliss / Joy / Unity / Harmony /

    Choose from what you do = Planners / Architects / Builders / Designers

    Good luck

    I am personally not a fan of overly specific business names. In a larger sense, you are an event planning business. There are many types of events, not only weddings, but anniversaries and birthday parties and corporate events. I don't think you want to spend a lot of money to paint yourself into a corner. Rather, if it were me, I would have a more generic event related business name, and a specific tagline describing a focus on weddings.
