I have developed a brand that we've recently opened up a retail store for (one of many) and need to develop an SOP document for both head office and retail, from the equipment in each of the stores to uniforms, suppliers etc. I have no idea where to start

What is the purpose of the brand SOP document? Is it a marketing thing? (This is a forum that deals with marketing issues.)

SOPs are complex and the specifics matter, and we have very little info about what you are doing. So here is a high level picture of what I would do - I'd look at what is needed to set up and run a location and figure out what parts can be systemized for efficiency or need to be systemized to maintain brand value, and put those into an SOP.

The more you systemize, the more you keep things the same. But also the more you systemize, the less ability a local store has to adjust for local needs. Important to get the balance right, as getting it wrong one way or the other will cost you.

You'll need to provide MUCH more detail to get a useful answer.

You may find some published SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) onilne - eg of the major franchise chains. This will give you headings and structure for the documents. You'd then need to work through identifying the processes that need to be standardised. This can be through any combination of internal interviews, job shadowing, observation, workshops, and crucially work with the managing team. Once you have a first draft it will be easier to get criticism and feedback so aim to develop it iteratively.
