Hi there, I'm trying to come up with a name for a triathlon shop that I'm opening. Would welcome any ideas!

Where is the shop? Will you encourage folks who are just bikers or runners (for example), or are you going to be focused single-mindedly on triathletes? Are there any direct competitors in your area? Have you looked at the names of similar shops in other areas?

The shop is in Ireland. We will be looking to attract runners, bikers and swimmers, regardless of if they're involved in triathlons or not. So we're looking to be pretty inclusive. We've got one competitor in the area. I have looked at other names online.

Which names have you looked at? What search terms are people looking for? Will you sell online or exclusively from your brick and mortar store?

We won't be selling online. In terms of names, have thought of the following, some good, some terrible. The Brick, Transition, horizon, The Base, Bpm, Interval, T3, VO2, The Wall, Train, The Ladder, The Wall, Burn, Nail It, Prime, Power, The Hub, Tribe, Revolution, Grit Discovery, The Cave..... Views on any of those names are very welcome

It seems to me that the name must say or strongly suggest "Triathlon." For that reason I wouldn't favor any of the names on your list.

The goal should be to immediately communicate to triathletes that you are one of them and understand their needs. I might go with something like Jay's suggested "Tri Life," or add the city/county name, as in "Dublin Tri Life." Or at least spell out who you serve as in Jay's other suggestion, "Swim. Bike. Run."

Don't take a chance that a triathlete will miss the meaning of a too-generic name. You could even use "Dublin Triathlon Hub/Headquarters."
