Clever Name For Finance Training Program

Posted by danai.chingwena on 250 Points
Hi guys,

I work for a corporate finance team in the property sector and we are about to launch a training program for the corporate finance team. the aim of the program is to motivate the staff as well as enlighten them on how best to deliver their core duties to their business partners in a more efficient and effective manner. At the moment we have called it the ignite Finance series but wanted to find out if any one can suggest any thing better?
thanks,
Danai

"Ignite Finance" sounds like a name that was grounded in internal thinking. ("We need to find a way to motivate, or ignite, those folks so they will do their jobs better.")

I'd suggest you think about this from the perspective of your target audience. What's in it for them? What benefit will THEY realize after you've worked your training magic on them?

I'd name the program in a way that clearly shows them why they should WANT to participate, not so much why you want them to.

Staff is likely straight salary, correct? Do you want to spur some competition among the staff?

Why does the name have to be clever?

Staff are on straight salary yes, and no it does not have to be clever. That being said we are also trying to inspire and motivate them through the program,. happy with any suggestions

If you want to inspire and motivate your staff, offer them money and prizes for attending and taking part.
Few things motivate people, but prizes and money almost certainly will every time.

You probably don't want to Ignite the people or program so much as catapult them or the information into the financial battle. Catapult is a very effective concept to get something into a fortified position. Modern day version is the artillery bombardment, but corporate may not want to go that far with the analogy. You used the term "launch", but that isn't the complete concept for this... your product must come down in the midst of your target. Think of the visuals you could come up with.

    Catapult Finance
    "A Battle Tested Training Program"

To push the metaphor, and emphasize their increasing financial effectiveness as they progress through the program, you could call the newest trainees muskrats... then, after getting to a certain level, goats... then after program completion, oxen. Visual, again, would help with this.

That should generate some buzz amongst the financial folks.
