Creative & Catchy Newsletter Title

Posted by jevans on 25 Points
Greetings All,

I would love some help from other Marketing Experts. I am starting a Newsletter for my company but have not found the creative name I am looking for to capture my large audience.

I work for a Traffic Control Company. Our field employees work along side of Contractors, Utility Companies, special events and emergencies performing flagging and lane closures.

Company Name: B.A.T.S (Bay Area Traffic Solutions).
Company Logo: Bat over a Cone

Who is the target audience for this newsletter? Is it just for internal audience, or external too? It may not be a great idea to get too "creative." Something like "BATS News" might be sufficient.

Part of the problem (from a marketing perspective) is that there doesn't seem to be a marketing objective. How will you evaluate alternative newsletter names and pick a winner? What are the criteria? Are you really expecting a "creative name" to "capture [your] large audience?" You might want to let the quality of the content "capture" your audience, since that's how most newsletters are judged by their audiences.

What makes you think this name needs to be "catchy"?

Thanks for the above responses. My CEO requests are to be catchy enough to have our field employees open it. It will be a digital flipbook and we want to make sure we are keeping them engaged and the first thing is the title. I know once they open it we will keep them engaged. This is just something new and our guys work in the field and some times never open things via email.

I really like Jay's suggestion: The Belfry

    Another possibility: The BATS Cave

Your CEO is mistaken. This statement: "I know once they open it we will keep them engaged." contradicts this one: "This is just something new and our guys work in the field and some times never open things via email."

    You know this how?
