Blog Directories

Can anyone share their thoughts on submitting to blog directories? I read about hundreds online, but would like to stick to the bigger, legit ones. Any personal experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Are you doing it for a backlink or to have people find you? If the former, see if the backlinks are follow or nofollow. If the latter, don't bother - people are unlikely to think "I wonder where I can find a list of people who blog on this topic?" Instead they'll search for the topic and see what pops to the top of the list, and start there. Better to write well, and find partners who would benefit from your writing, and point them to your blog online.
