Need Help In Branding Strategy

Posted by joeclarkvideo10 on 25 Points
Hello,

I have a my own website where I promote web design services (primarily) but am getting into helping online entrepreneurs (designers, consultants, etc..) with internet marketing. I am creating a product to help them learn how to build a list for their business (not a "I'll show you how to get 1000 subscribers in 7 days on autopilot" kind of product). I actually went through many resources and even checked Brand Marketing Examples for help but did not find any help.

Here's my question...should I get a separate domain for my product or set up a sales page within my website for branding purposes?

Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

Why not test which one has the best pull?
Short term for SEO, you're likely to be better to have a sales page w/in your website (assuming you've had your domain for a while and have good pagerank). Long-term, it depends on your SEO plans.

Use an on-site landing page. Please share a link to your site.

Back in the days when people used to buy sales literature, I had a client who had two company names.

He offered full-service design, printing, And writing for one vertical market. But he also sold printing only the graphics and design companies.

He was in direct competition with his customers who were design and printing companies. And he used two company names, one for each target market.

And so I would ask, are you selling to your competitors? If so, it would probably simplify your messaging to have one webpage offering full service web designing and hosting and Internet marketing to end users, and a separate webpage offering products and services to your competitors. Good luck.

Personally, I'd stick with implementing a landing page for your specific product. I'd do this for a few reasons:

    - Your product may not have enough content surrounding to justify building a website / giving it a fully qualified domain name.

    - A good landing page is designed to focus specifically on one product or service and to provide just one call to action (CTA). There are many good articles on how to build a high converting landing page online.

    - If you're planning on doing any kind of advertising (especially PPC) you'll want specially tailored offers that apply to those ads. Landing pages don't have to necessarily have good SEO (you're specifically paying to get them traffic in this case) and they can be easily duplicated and tailored without disrupting your primary website / general offerings.
