Another Term For "speed Networking"

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am organizing a speed networking event among professional women and the term speed networking has turned some folks off of the event. One told me she couldn't attend b/c she was married so clearly the relationship of speed dating is too strong and some ppl don't get it. The event is exactly like speed dating - 5 minutes with a senior person in the field and then you move on. The idea is to create connects so women can build a professional network. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure about this "speed networking" promotion. If I were to leave my office to attend the networking event, I'll be gone at least an hour, whether I spend 90 seconds or two minutes or 15 minutes talking to various professionals.

If I were to make a decision about whether or not to attend, I do not think it would be on the basis of the method of interaction. I would be much more interested in the quality of the people attending, and the quality of information shared. To me, those of the benefits.
