Need A Name For High-level M&a Women's Group

Posted by kjansen on 250 Points
Starting a networking group for an invitation-only, high-level professional women's group that meets once a month for wine and cheese.

Attendees are hand-picked and group changes every month with no more than 8-10 in attendance. Attendees will be investment bankers, venture capital, private equity, corporate attorney, CPA, wealth advisors, or other corporate advisors in the mid-market M&A transaction world.

Name shouldn't be too pretentious but should signify a high level of expertise and knowledge in corporate transactions. Serving business owners with enterprise values between 5-250 million.

Where? Who is the target audience? What do you want people to think when they hear the name? What's in it for your target audience?

I was thinking more in terms of where (in the world) you will be based: New York, London, Omaha, etc. Maybe that will give some sense of who the organization is targeting, and it will help the right women feel like this is a group for them.

Given that the group is relatively small -- dozens, not hundreds or thousands -- you don't need broad awareness. You might be best served to mount a face-to-face campaign so you can personalize the benefit for each prospective member.

The suggested names from Jay and Mike would seem quite acceptable. What criteria would you use to pick one?

Los Angeles is the location - and I just need a catchy name that works for the group and develop a snazzy logo around it. Myself and one other group organizer will be hand picking the invite-only monthly group attendees.

"Attendees are hand-picked and group changes every month"

    Hand picked by whom?

If the membership of the group changes each month you'll find it impossible to create consistency.

"Women should think prestige, knowledge, corporate advisory and business advisory ..."

Should they? "Should" is a pretty loaded word so you might want to rethink the emphasis here.

If I'm a female executive and I join this group, what's in it for me?
