Looking For A Tag Line For A 2nd Consignment Store

Posted by mackenzie1110 on 250 Points
We currently have an established high end women’s consignment store. We will be opening a second store but offer lower end brand names. We are keeping the store name the same but would like to have a different tagline that lets customers know what’s in store (ie. like an outlet or factory store). The current store is called: Rhyan’s Mess: upscale women’s consignment store. We will only be carrying women’s clothing. Thanks.

If the second store won't be selling upscale items, then I suggest that you differentiate the second store's name to avoid confusion (people's first impression may be of your second store, and think you only sell lower end brands). For example, "Rhyan's Mess Outlet".

I think you need to follow Jay's advice and adopt a completely different name for the store selling a different category of clothing. With two stores of the same trading name selling different categories of value clothing, customers will be confused as to what your existing primary brand stands for. And I am sure you won't want to damage or denigrate the reputation of your existing brand. For a practical example of what I am referring to, Toyota created Lexus as a separate company to market the prestige car. The everyday Toyota was continued as Camry. Toyota did not bring the Lexus into the general Toyota production line. There is a reason behind the old quote: 'Ne'er the twain shall meet.'
