Most important factor: My designs are more classically simple than "lavish". Someone in a related thread mentioned Grace Kelly--that is the exact image I'd like my biz name to evoke--classic, sophisticated but not stuffy, stylish, often sparkly but not fussy--just pretty things that make a woman feel feminine & happy. My designs have done very well among working women (my office co-workers). Target market is wide: ages 20-60, worldwide. I plan to concentrate on marketing my work online (as opposed to concentrating on selling in local shops).
I live in VT; that's a not-essential-but-possibly-helpful angle. I'd like a short name, maybe some kind of play on words, easy to spell & pronounce (unlike my last name, Vien). "Pretty words" like shimmer, gossamer, sparkle, splendor, snowflake appeal to me but I haven't been able to do much with them (& some are too commonly used, like sparkle). Have toyed with tagline like "for the many facets of you", but not married to it--I was just pleased because it [cleverly, I thought!] used 'facets'. (I have a Computer Science degree, so imagination is not my forte.)
Bonus would be a name that evokes or incorporates positive emotions/images--success, happiness, special occasions, uplifting--and maybe even leads naturally to a particular color scheme, packaging, logo, etc. I've also toyed with making my name (Laurie) part of the biz name, but came up with nothing except the mundane (Designs by Laurie, LaurieV Creations--snore).
Hopefully that's enough to go on! Please help me come up with a catchy, sophisticated new name AND anassociated tagline so I can get started on website design.
Thank you SO much--can't wait to hear your suggestions!!
